Anniversary

Hello out there!

I've been checking out thenest for awhile now, but haven't posted until now.

Our third wedding anniversary is coming up next month, and it is the first one we get to celebrate together...you know since the wedding! We are both looking forward to it and I really would like to do some things to make it extra special.

August is a big month for us, with our birthdays being at the beginning and end with our anniversary in the middle. I was thinking of incorporating it all together, but I also don't want to take away from our anniversary.

We both travel a lot for work, so any time we spend together is nice, but I would like to make this extra special :)

I appreciate any feedback from you lovely ladies out there!!

xo, Cat

Re: Anniversary

  • Thanks :) I was thinking of maybe incorporating something for the first three years.

Sorry, I should have thought to include interests...We do a lot of outdoor activities together and separately...hiking, fishing, road trips to do these things, wine tasting, and just lounging since we work so much!

We have a boat also, so maybe for part of it do a nice sunset boat picnic. Possibly for the paper part ( year 1) getting baseball tickets.

Not sure yet for years 2 and 3...

Is it bad form to incorporate anniversary and birthday gifts?

  • For something like that you could do two separate things i.e. Wine tasting and Spa treatments for your Anniversary, if the DH goes for that kind of thing. There are some great Spa resorts that have deals from time to time and if you aren't 'Hoteled-Out' from all the travel you do, maybe you could stay one night. Baseball tickets sounds great for birthday celebration. I think its fine to join the two but in a separated kind of way. Whatever you do have a blast!

Sky diving?  Dusk horseride with a campfire dinner at the end?  Those were what my ex calls his most memorable birthdays that I threw.

Something I've always wanted to do is a hot air ballon ride.

  • Thanks, girls! Looking forward to incorporating it all together, it will be such a fun month :)
  • Happy almost-Anniversary!

Not sure where you are located, but the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WV is amazing! They have many outdoor adventures---horseback riding, kayaking, climbing, hiking, clay shooting. As well as a relaxing full-service spa, beautiful grounds. And the resort has amazing restaurants.

We went two summers ago and continue to talk about it :-)
