What fantastic things happened this week? Any fantastic plans for the weekend?

Re: Fantastic Friday
It's been a good and bad week. The house we'd decided we wanted to put an offer on got axed because it was for sale by owner and they were asking waaaay over what it's worth. They'd originally told our realtor they were willing to pay her comission fee, but then changed their minds after she'd shown it to us twice. It's overpriced for the neighborhood market, so even if we decided to go for it, the mortgage company wouldn't loan us the money for it. :-/
My mom has been in town since Tuesday night helping me get stuff ready in my classroom. I feel like we're just scratching the surface even though we've been working our butts off. We also decided that I'm going to get the test for the BRCA 1 & 2 genes, which is what causes a huge increase in the chance for breast cancer. Both my mom and grandmother had bilateral mastectomies as a preventative measure. Literally every woman in my mom's side of the family (coming from both her parents) had breast cancer, so we figured we might as well find out now while I have killer insurance.
This weekend H and I are going to visit some of his friends in Atlanta and are going to a Braves game! It's my first MLB game, so I'm excited! We're also getting together with one of our good friends tonight, which is always fun. I went last night with my MIL and SIL to one of those painting classes and painted Van Gogh's sunflowers. It was sooo much fun! Out of about 15 of us, SIL was the only one there that wasn't a teacher...what are the odds?! haha
Nothing exciting this week, but paying off my student loan. Well it's suppose to be taken out of checking today... but nothing yet.
I have another 4 day weekend thanks to furloughs. I have a list I want to get done, but nothing exciting. We're going to Famous Dave's BBQ tomorrow with my parents then H and my mama are getting new phones. Monday I'm hosting a pampered chef party haha. I think only like 6 people are coming, oh well!
Jen - Sorry about the house, but I'm a firm believer in everything for a reason... your dream house is out there! And good luck with the tests, I'd want to know too. YAY baseball games are so fun! And I loved your painting on FB. I need to go to one of those.
H worked some crazy hours this week, so I got a lot of reading done. Nothing else exciting happened this week.
This weekend is the first weekend we haven't had plans since the end of May and I'm so glad! Our house need some major deep cleaning (what I call a sparkle party!) and we need to get some grocery shopping done. I want to spend Sunday after church making several meals ahead so we can have some things in the pipeline for when H works crazy hours, etc. Tonight we are going out with friends to our favorite mexican place for $5 top shelf margaritas. Our friend is having her gall bladder removed on Monday so we are calling tonight her last supper
at least for a good long while!
Jen, good luck with your tests!! I hope everything turns out ok for you.
Tonight, I think we are just laying low. Tomorrow, we are going over to a friends house to have some pool time. They just got engaged so we are gonna have a mini celebration for that too with some yummy food and drinks. Can't wait!
Sunday is my youngest stepdaughters birthday, so we are gonna take her to Chuck e Cheese and go watch Despicable Me 2 and I think my parents are coming along so it should be fun.
I'd also really like to get started with buying the materials for my closet. We decided to go with the built ins. The track system turned out to be pretty expensive, so there's no real appeal to going that route now.
Exciting- my little love was born on Monday=)
Nothing exciting going on for this weekend, I cant really leave the house with a newborn but we are bonding and I love every min of it. H has to work tomorrow and I think my mom is coming over for a little and we will probably have some other family stop by and visit as well.
I've had nothing exciting happen this week. I pretty much stayed in the house all week and loved every minute of it. I could definitely be a housewife. Maybe we'll hit the lottery
I did a deep cleaning of the apartment, taking 1 room a day. It feels so good to be really clean.
We have no plans this weekend. It's the first weekend since sometime in March with nothing to do. SIL may need to work tomorrow night and my mom was supposed to babysit my nephew but now my dad wants to go somewhere. My mom called before and was asking if I could do it. I made it clear early in the week that I was doing nothing but spending time with my H all weekend and I would not babysit. I may sound like a spoiled brat, but I don't care.
Jen- don't be upset about the house. It wasn't meant to be. My H and I have been outbid on a few houses or they are off the market before we can even put in a bid. And I didn't forget about emailing you, I can't remember my first day routine and I am trying to remember so I can write it out for you.
