Help Me Decorate - Bedroom
My room is so dull looking. My comforter is like a very light blue/green color and my sheets are beige/gold. My curtains are beige/gold and all of my furiture is an espresso color. I would like to add some color but also like to achieve a modern chic look. Looking for add some color using some nice throw pillows first.
Re: Help Me Decorate - Bedroom
I'd look for accents in the blue green family since you already have that color in your bed spread. You are also going to want to try to find some large and small wall art with those colors as well to coordinate it all.
To be honest, if I were you I'd join houzz.com. It's free, and there are thousands of pictures for inspiration.
You need pattern...visual movement.
- Find some blue green art for above the bed. Remember to buy much larger than you think you need - one of the most common beginner mistakes is buying everything too small. Look at magazines - you'll never see small anything, always a couple large rather than lots of little things. Local arts fairs are a great place to get originals. Or if you live near a college, find out when their art department has their student sales.
- Add a few graphic patterned pillows. Etsy has a million in your colors.
- Add a large vase in your colors on top of the dresser by the photographer. TJ Maxx is always my go-to for things like that.
- I'd get colored bedside lamps (either ceramic or glass) in your colors, blue would probably be easiest to find. Try Target or TJ. Remember don't buy dinky things.
Good luck! The neutral base you have to work with is really a fantastic starting place!
