Dog food review website?

EDIT: My husband just found dogfoodanalysis.com, which seems like it might be the one I was thinking of. If you know of any other good ones, feel free to share! Thanks!

Someone on here recommended a great website years ago with dog food reviews. It had ratings - either a number or stars, but each food had a certain number based on the quality, lack of fillers, etc. We used it to choose our dog food, but are interested in changing it for various reasons. I can't, for the life of me, remember the name of the website, or find my original post. I kind of remember it being organized really well - maybe in a chart where you can click on the various foods?? Does anyone know what website I might be referring to? Or have another one to recommend?

That's the one that's most often recommended around here.

    The other is petfoodratings.net

  • Just a caution. Those sites are based on opinions not based on nutritional fact.   Some of their opinions are grossly misinformed.

    My biggest recommendations:

    Stay away from Blue Buffalo

Select a diet with an AAFCO statement labeling it for maintenance if your dog is an adult.   An all life stage diet is too high in fat for most anything except a puppy or a pregnant female.

Can you elaborate more about staying away from Blue Buffalo? That's what we're giving our dogs now and want to switch.

  • They have had major issues with their micronutrient balance  and have reports of illnesses due to these vitamin and mineral imbalances. That along with their fat content being upwards of 18% and all their diets being all life stage diets I just can't find a redeeming quality about their food.I compare it to expensive alpo.
