Loan Documents - Question

Ok, so we are in the process of doing our actual loan application. We have to come up with a whole list of documents we need copies of to send in.

(W2s, tax returns, etc)

I have everything EXCEPT a copy of hubby's 2011 w2. I found mine, and I think his got misplaced when we moved last year because I wasn't as big on organization then.

What would he do? Does he go to his HR department to get a copy? And how long would this take?

TIA!

Re: Loan Documents - Question

  • Yes, he should contact the person/department who handles his payroll.

He should ask tomorrow (Monday) and hopefully they can get it to him within the week. How long it takes just depends on the person/department and how organized they are in finding a W2.

  • Very good, thanks for the reply! :)
  • You can also go to your local IRS office and request a Wage statement from them. If you don't have a local IRS office you can always order a tax transcript from the IRS which will also include the Wage statement.

  • I'm pretty sure any of those big tax filing companies (H&R Block, etc.) can also pull that for you, though they will probably charge something.
