Re: Why Have Kids?
#5 is all me! I wrote down the name of the book plus the other one that was mentioned. Id like to check them out. Very interesting article, especially the job part- i can see where its coming from, a woman with children is more likely to need time off to manage the kids/have other responsibilities versus someone who doesn't have kids. Not that its right but i can see how it comes into an employers decision.
OP- i had your line of thinking too, def no kids but maybe closer to 30. Now that im 29, my mind hasn't changed and im even more saying no kids at all. Thanks for posting the article!
I like kids. I think they are cute and fun to play with.
BUT the thought of being a bad mother is what scares me about possibly having kids. My mother wasn't the worst, but she definitely could have done a better job raising my sisters and I. I feel like I would not be a great mother, and that gives me a ton of anxiety. Honestly, that is the biggest reason I am on the fence about kids. I don't want to screw them up.
this exactly in regards to my father! I just don't want the responsibility of raising a good citizen.
1. Our society does not support mothers The United States is the only industrialized nation without paid maternity leave, putting families and children at severe economic risk.
This is such an alarming figure that angers me. Why this isn't made into a bigger political issue perplexes me.
