Hi Everyone!
I am a newlywed (for two more months) and a new homeowner (for only two months). My husband and I bought a cute pottery barn ranch for our first home. Its small but its the perfect starter home. The house, like many post World War II homes has a combined Living area and Dining Area. Well there is no place for an entryway table and by default we slop the mail, our computers, purses, etc on the dining room table. This drives my husband nuts, but I am not sure if there is a feasible solution. We cant put an entryway table in the middle of the living area, we can's put it behind the front door (there's a closet in the way) and we cant take out the dining area. Any suggestions you may have of how to create an entry are in a very small space would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
Theresa
Re: Cluttered Dining Room Table
Could you arrange the living room furniture so the back of the sofa is nearer the entryway and use a sofa table (behind the sofa)? You could put a lamp on it...a bowl for keys...a tray for papers and maybe some baskets underneath it for extra stuff.

As an example of what I mean see the link. There are so many styles to choose from for these sorts of tables.
