Abnormal Pap Smear?
Does anyone have experience with abnormal pap smears? I got one four months ago and it came back looking crazy, so they did a biopsy which came back negative for HPV and just looking a little inflamed and like the cells were a little abnormal. They told me to just come back in a few months, but it was probably okay.
I went back a few weeks ago, and they just called with the results. Said they were still slightly abnormal, but not quite as bad as last time. She said if I just come back again in 6 months that should be fine, and I shouldn't worry about it.
I'm trying not to think about it, but it's so hard not to worry! These are my first two abnormal tests in ten years... it's just a little strange. Anyone else have an experience like this?

I had a few abnormal paps but they were "almost precancerous" cells (like they wouldn't classify them as precancerous but they were almost at that point). I had a colposcopy as well as a LEEP a few years later.
But my cousin used to have abnormal paps all the time and the doc always said they'd just keep an eye on it. I think they eventually went back down to normal.
