Animal transport services?
anyone know anything about them? We're looking at getting a Golden/Collie mix puppy (we have young children and think we would do better with a puppy or young female that can get used to our crazy home than an adult that's used to quite and calm. We're in MO and we found a puppy (younger than we were necessarily looking for) in GA at a kill shelter. It's a 9 hour drive so we'll either commit to this dog sight unseen or not. I've been thinking about having her transported here (if the shelter agrees) as opposed to driving there. Anyone know what these services cost and what the experience is like for the pup? It would be a very long drive with our kids and I'm not sure if DH or I would want to go without the other.

Re: Animal transport services?
The transport organization that I used to volunteer for transported between shelters and rescues, not to adopters. I believe most operate that way.
What would happen if the puppy isn't a good fit for your family? With kids as young as yours, I'd go the young adult dog route. 18 months or older.
