Change in credit report

I contacted Capital One regarding a "charge off" listed on my credit report with expierian. It was not a charge off, but I did settle with them for half the amount owed. Capital one sent expierian a letter and then sent me a letter saying they changed my account status to an R1 and will report that to the credit bureaus. From what Ive read, R1 is good! what will that mean for my credit report? The other two agencies have it listed as paid and not charged off like expierian does.

Re: Change in credit report

  • I don't know for your specific case, but I can tell you when I contacted a second mortgage I was on, they wrote to all three saying I was released from the loan and they would not try to collect...  That made my credit go up by twenty points.
