Yorkie Daschund pups ears are being weird
My puppy is almost 4 months old and his ears were always floppy, now they are being weird. one ear will stay down while the other sticks out to the side, or they both stick out. His ears are pretty long and look like they take after a daschund so i'm just wondering if the yorkie in him is making his ears try to stick straight up? there is little to no information on this mix of a dog, so if you know whats going on please let me know!
Re: Yorkie Daschund pups ears are being weird
Since he's a mix of breeds that have different ear types, there's no way to tell whether he will ultimately have erect or floppy ears. Even dogs that will end up having erect ears can have floppy ears at first. At only 4 months old, I would think it's entirely possible that his ears haven't set into their final, adult position. You'll probably just have to wait and see where his ears end up - I know some dogs that have one of each (which I think is adorable). Of course, if there is any sign of a medical issue, infection, illness, definitely take him to your vet!
