please pray for our friend...
The Yorba Linda fire came way too fast and his Mom wasn't home, so he had to leave two of his big dogs behind. When his Mom attempted to come to get the big dogs, the fire dept would not allow her access. Please pray that these dogs are okay...the fire is so close and our family friend is crying his eyes out while stuck on the 91. They are now concerned that those on the 91 are also at risk for being caught in a fire storm!
Ugh...this is just terrible....

Oh Lisa! I can't imagine having to leave the dogs behind. I hope your friend is safe and his home & pets are all okay. It's going to be a long & scary night.
I saw it was heading towards Anaheim. Are you guys safe for now??
B- we are more on the border of Garden Grove, so we are fairly far from the fires.
Our friend is stuck, not moving, on the 91...the fire is said to be 2 streets behind his house. His dogs must be petrified.
That's awful and I will keep your friend, his family and his dogs in my thoughts.
It could prove to be a very long night! It all depends on wind, etc. We are about 15 miles from it but we are off the 241 in the Foothill Ranch area (where it burned last year). If the winds kick up and it decides to burn over the hill between us and Corona we could be in big trouble ... I really don't think that's going to happen though. We have some OC Nesties that have had to evacuate and a couple that are packed and waiting for word.
Please keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers. They have lost over 50 homes. This is in a fairly heavy residential area ... last I heard a Thomasville Furniture store had burned, a car dealership is on fire (not sure which one as there are a few in that area), it's burned an apartment complex and the list goes on. The worst is that an area called Hidden Hills (which has some very big and expensive homes not that the price or size make any difference to the devesation) are without water and burning. The pump station burned and it was the only way to get water into the area. They are trucking water in but the tanks only hold enough water for less than 10 minutes of fire fighting.
It's a very sad thing out here right now!

My cousins live in Yorba Linda and they had to evacuate. They're coming over to stay tonight.

Does not look good for our friend. His home is on Paseo de Toronto in YL and according to the LA times fire maps, his street was hit. At this point, we are all praying that his two white akita's were spared. Those poor dogs...all alone...:( .....And the FD said that even if their house was spared, the idea of the dogs breathing in all the smoke and fumes could be just as harmful.
