Ari has been home for only 5 days and we have gone through 1 1/2 pack of diapers already. OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why didn't someone warn me? LOL How on earth can their be so much pee and poo inside such a small baby? I guess there isn't, which is why we've gone through so many dang diapers.
Maybe it's the prune juice that I've been drinking. I guess he is kinda drinking it too indirectly. I should stop.
**Thanks nest for helping me figure out it's me that's causing my baby to poo every hour.**
If you are reading this, sorry. I think being indoors all day everyday is starting to get to me. But my husband won't let me go down the dang stairs until Monday unless it's absolutely necessary. I got to get out of this house!!!
Re: No point to this post, just bored...
Wow... that's a crapload of diapers! But from my experience with newborns, they all do a lot of pooping and peeing. That's a good sign. He's a well fed boy.
Did you have a c-section? How is your body feeling? I'm just wondering... we have stairs in our house and I"m scared I"ll be forced to stay upstairs for the first week after baby is born if I have a c-section.
I hope you can get out of the house soon!
LOL! I remember feeling that way! THat is when I become additcted to The Nest 's baby boards. When your husband will let you I highly recommend a short walk. I think you had a C-section, right? So be sure to take it easy, but even if you just put the baby in a stroller and sit outside you will feel SOOOO much better! And I have no idea how something so small can poop so dang often. I always thought that was crazy. Especially when you are nursing because it feels like all you are doing is feeding the baby and changing diapers! I'm sure you have been told this a zillion times, but it goes so fast. My son is 19 mns now and it's so hard to believe!
I feel your pain. I am on week 2 since Maddox has been home and I am getting cabin fever myself. I am so excited to go to the doctor tomorrow...woohoo, I get to get out.
I am sure the prune juice is the culprit. One thing I have learned is that it takes a baby(or maybe it is a boy thing) a long time to poop. If I change his diaper right away...never fails I have to change it again within 5-10 minutes. Now I make sure I let him get it all out before I change it.
I think I stopped taking my pain meds completely about 8 or 9 days after. I was still in the hospital until 6 days after and was up and about quit a bit going back and fourth to the nicu. Once I got home I was very active going back and fourth to the hospital. I never got the chance to really rest. I have stairs in my house and my bedroom is upstairs. I kind of had no choice but to climb them. Just take your time, it does get easier everyday. I noticed the right side of the incision had a burning type pain for several days after. The nurses said that is very normal because of the way they pull the baby out.
How is Ari sleeping? Are you getting any rest? Did you have staples/if so, are they still in? Do you have more pictures to share???
There's a picture of Ari's gorgeous little head of hair in my blog- he was SUCH a great little subject to photograph! There will be a ton of pics of him ready to go soon!
And hey, at least we saved ONE diaper from being peed in yesterday, right?
You really didn't know that if you're breastfeeding whatever you eat or drink is going to go through your baby's system??????
He sleeps pretty good. My family came into town and will be here for two weeks. Every since they have been here he hasn't been sleeping as well. It's only been two days so hopefully the excitement will die down soon and he can get back to his normal little routine. I could always get more sleep, but it's not too bad. I had staples but they took them out the second day in the hospital. Now there are just little sticky strips there. I have pictures, just hadn't felt like going through the motion of getting them "nest ready". Cmeon took some great shots for me on Sat, maybe I will find time to put one of those up a little later.
