traveling to pigeon forge - questions.

hi.  my family will be traveling to pigeon forge in mid-december.  my son will be nearly 5 months old & i'm wondering what the weather is like that time of year in that area.  i want to bring the right kind of clothes for him without over packing [i'm almost always guilty of that].

any suggestions would really help.  TIA!

Re: traveling to pigeon forge - questions.

  • I would guess it would be pretty cold. It's the mountains, so I would guess below freezing. You can check weather.com and they usually give averages for different months.

  • I agree.  Definitely cold.  Might even be snow since it is on the mountains!

  • I actually just moved down to Knoxville (not too far from Pigeon Forge) from Delaware so I'd say the weather would be pretty similar.  We're wamer here in Knoxville than we had in Wilmington, but Pigeon Forge is a higher elevation so it will be colder than here.
  • I would plan for really cold. It has been in the 30's and 40's all week in Knoxville and Pigeon Forge is usually a little colder with some snow in the higher elevations.
