Anyone else think it is too early for Christmas decor?

I just need to vent a bit. The people down the street from us have had their house lit up with santa and reindeer and the whole nine yards for the past week already. It drives me nuts! They did this last year as well and then left them up until Feb. I understand hanging lights before the weather gets really cold, but to have them all turned on so soon is just crazy! Ok, vent over.

Outside decor, probably. HOWEVER, I already have my tree up. I will admit it. I love my Christmas tree, I love Christmas, I love Christmas decorations and wrapping presents. AND my hubby and I don't get to spend any of the holidays in our home, for the most part, we always come to KC for the week and what not. So we put the tree up early so that we can enjoy it.

I think the day after Thanksgiving is the perfect day to start with Christmas decor.

I agree.  Our next door neighbors have had lights on since like 2 days after Halloween.  Yuck.  And I'm with Beth, the day after Thanksgiving (or that weekend) is when I put the tree up and decorate.  I'm no Scrooge, but at least let us get past one holiday before you start on the next one!

Yeah, I think that before Thanksgiving's a bit much. I'm just really thankful I'm in a neighborhood where noone has an inflatables fetish.

Yes! There are also houses in our neighborhood with lights up. We don't put anything up until Thanksgiving or the day after. I am sad though this year because Thanksgiving is so late, we won't get to have our decorations up very long.

We have a few in our neighborhood that leave their lights up year round, but they don't turn them on thankfully. Though I did see a yard full of inflatables in the neighborhood somewhere.

We love xmas, the decorations the whole bit so we already have the inside of the house decorated! but i think the norm is after thanksgiving. im a nail tech and the shop im at has xmas music going and people are like seriously! but hey i love it and sofi loves the tree with all the lights so im glad we have ours up already.

I'm with you; I can understand putting up the outside lights when you have a nice late-Fall day, but it feels way too early to turn them on yet! I don't even want to think about Christmas decorations until after we're done with Thanksgiving (which I can't believe is already next week!).

We don't have lights to put on our house this year because we just moved into a house in July.  We hope to find sales after the holiday season so we can decorate outside next year.  And yes, I think the weekend after Thanksgiving is good time to do that. 

We will probably decorate the inside this weekend though.  I work on T-giving so it's almost like I'm skipping right over that holiday.  Plus, we have friends and family coming over the weekend after T-giving for the Mu v Ku game so I would like to be slightly decorative at that point.
