Favorite Thanksgiving Food?

Going off shammy's question in the previous post: What's your favorite Thanksgiving dish? Or, if you're not into Thanksgiving food, what's your favorite thing to eat on Thanksgiving?

Re: Favorite Thanksgiving Food?

  • My mom's cranberry salad. It's from my grandmother's recipe, and it's SO good, especially the next day on a sandwich with leftover turkey.

  • I can't really stand Thanksgiving food. I know....I am just strange! I always love eating breakfast food on holidays for some reason. We are going to go to the Waffle House this year! Can't beat their hashbrowns! I don't have much of an appetite anymore, and I just get weird cravings every once in awhile.
  • Mashed potatoes with gravy!! ?And I really love the cranberry jelly in the can, that still has the lines on it when you take it out.....mmmmm..

  • Definitely my mom's homemade white bread stuffing.  Lots of white bread and butter in there - two things I'm not supposed to eat, but for Thanksgiving I just dont' care! It's cooked in the turkey all day and is soooo yummy, esp with homemade gravy.  Also green bean casserole. This year I am making it with fried onions from TJ's or whole foods b/c the French's have trans fats and I need to find a diff. cream of mushroom soup b/c I normally make it with Campbells, but that has MSG. I could live w/out everything else ;) But Thanksgiving is my absolute fav holiday...my mom is making the Turkey and we're making everything else at my house and just spending the day with my parents at our house w/ my dad and husband watching the game (we're from Detroit!) on our new flat screen. ;)

  • All of it, I love all of it! Ha, no really, my favorite dish would have to be our sweet potatoes. They are mashed with ginger and orange, and topped with a brown sugar, ginger, and walnut crust. Ohhhh, can't wait!
  • Sweet potato casserole; it's no contest.
  • All of it!  Thanksgiving dinner is my favorite.
