Where did you come from???
I was wondering what Nest boards (if any) you migrated from to find the political chit chat.
I started on Relationships/WW on The Knot, then migrated to BOTB when I got pg, and then moved on to Parenting (and back to BOTB when I got pg with my second). I lurk on other boards when I have a topic-specific question.

I was on the Knot planning my wedding doing the P&E thing or my local board when I discovered E08.
As for the Nest boards I may lurk on occasion but I don't post in any of the other ones.
I was on the nest - Money Matters and my local mainly - and one of the agitators for a politics board. It was exciting days when it first came online.

I followed a C&P from BNOTB (babies not on the brain... shudder) directing people to the ticker-related board war between E08 and BOTB. This was over a year ago, when E08 wasn't on the side menu so harder to find.
I also used to spend a lot of time on the pets board and on health and fitness, but now I usually just stick here and on politics and current events.
I came on the Knot when I was planning my wedding, then I found and became addicted to TIP. Then someone on TIP told me there was a politics board and gave me the link. THere was no turning back from there.
OMG I remember the Star Wars wedding!!
Like Lisa, I was on the DC board and MM on the Nest. Before that, I was hooked on the Knot - mostly the DC local, with a little bit of lurking on the national boards.
I think someone posted a link on MM the first day the board appeared, and I came over and never left.

Someone posted a link to E08 on YH about "why would anyone want to talk about politics all day?" And I thought, "why wouldn't anyone want to talk about politics all day?" There was no turning back.?
We had a destination wedding, and DH (then FI, of course) was doing some google research and found the knot. He said "you should check out this site! Sounds like lots of other people are having DWs, too. Maybe they have good info." I think he seriously regrets that comment to this day! I was a DW knot regular, then migrated to the nest after the wedding. Someone on my local board (i think it was zoe, truth be told) posted the link to "brides decide" (on the first day, fwiw) and I've been here ever since!
Anything you can achieve through hard work, you could also just buy.
Pretty much the same except that post was on my nest local. The girls there still scare me.
Knot local (Seattle) ---> Knot Relationships which became Wedding Woes(with snarky bitches extraordinaire), then the Nest came about and kicked all relationship-type boards over to the Nest (because why would you talk about your relationship BEFORE you're married? That's just silly; keep obsessing about ribbon wands and TOJ packets!)
Then Nest local --->TIP--->MM, where LaLaLisa posted the link for the first time. I've been here ever since! This is the first board I go to anymore: A06, then E08.
I felt like I never really fit in on MM anyway, I'd try to bring up social issues and didn't get a lot of response!

I lurked on MM and Lala put up a post about the discovery of a new board. I came over right away! Total follower. I know. ;-p
I don't remember you on WW. ?That's where I was before I moved to Japan, but it moves too fast for me to deal with the time change.
I was just bored one day and perusing boards, saw election, and I stuck around. ?It was only a 2 weeks after it was created.?
Started on ML, that lasted for about a week until I realized that most of the people on that board were batshit crazy. Then I was on the Pets board for a long time, then over to E08
I never really posted on the Knot, I actually was on The Nest before I was married. Was never that into wedding stuff.
Same here. I loved The Knot when I was planning my wedding and then would pop on The Nest here and there after the wedding. Never really stuck around until I saw the election board last winter and I have been here ever since.
