... to be evaluated for flat feet.?
I took him to ped yesterday and brought up that Jacob wakes up in the night crying saying his feet hurt. ?Dr. asked what he wears to bed, I told him 2 pc pjs and socks, because I found that if he doesn't wear socks he wakes up with foot pain. ?Dr. said OK he wants him evaluated with the podiatrist because he thinks Jacob has severely flat feet, that foot pain shouldn't start until he reaches 60-70 lbs, not at 31 lbs.
So I made the appt with the podiatrist. ?He isn't avail until dec 3rd. ?But the bright side is that it is correctable with shoe inserts, bad thing is that they cost about $130, so with a growing child it is going to be an investment, but a worthwhile one.
I am glad I brought it up to ped, I just thought it was growing pains. ?I think DH & his mom may have flat feet.?
Re: Jacob is going...
Thanks, he walks and runs just fine. ?It is just when he has more active days he gets foot pain @ night. I just wanted my boy to continue to be perfect.
Wow, good thing you paid attention to that and didn't just let it go. Good he will be getting the help he needs, in the mean time did the doctor say there is something that can be done for the pain. Hate to here about children and pain.
His pain is not a daily thing, and is managed really well when I make sure he sleeps with socks on, so his feet don't get cold and cramp up, but if he does get pain I just give him some tylenol and he goes back to sleep.?
