Calling all crafty ladies...

I am working on an article for the newspaper about things you can DIY for Christmas gifts... So far, I've only got a few ideas. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! I'm looking for things that can be easily photographed.

1. Monogrammed coaster tiles (Amy, didn't you make these last year?)

2. custom kids clothing (I'm sewing a dress for my niece so I've got that one covered)

3. painted pottery (a plate that was made at one of those paint your stores)

4. A jar filled with the dry ingredients for cookies or scones, wrapped cute with a recipe on how to bake them. OR... baked goods in a cute DIY container.

 5. DIY stationary. (stamped or otherwise)

ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS?? Anything would help! Thanks!

also I think LaurenRachel has some stuff on her blog/website.

OH and Vanessa is doing smocking if you wanted to ask her about that.

I'm doing a couple of things out of the new Martha Stewart Living - bath salts, sugar/salt scrubs.  And homemade vanilla extract for my friends/family that bake.

Not sure if you read oneprettything.com but it is a feast for the crafty eyes!  Handpanted ornaments you can get the plain glass ones at Hobby Lobby, canvas with a kids name or family monogram painted on it, I'm making a cousin a tutu very easy, my sister is knitting scarves, bathtowels for kids out of a regular towel and a wash cloth, also have a friend that is making pillows with names appliqued in cute fabric.  That is all I can think of for now.

I have a painted platter that my sister made for us for our wedding gift that she painted.  If you need a pic I would be happy to email one to you!

i was poking around on martha today and saw a candle with cinnamon sticks glued around it. So so simple and easy! also a jingle bell wreath...when in doubt, go to martha...she always has answers

Also, I found a body scrub recipe that is super duper easy. all ingredients are on hand or are easily found at the grocery store. Link in blog

I'm making a fabric covered bulletin board for my SIL and making fabric covered pushpins to go with.

if you need more...tell me. i will research for you, for real. I love this stuff! annd..i need to research for blog posts anyhow. haha
