i am having a stare down with a mouse

Yesterday I saw a mouse in the store where I work.  I ran as fast as I could upstairs to my boss's office.  He didn't seem too concerned.  But I am!!  I asked today if he had gotten a trap and he hasn't.  I've heard the mouse all day and I just saw him hiding behind a carpet board.  I don't think it will be good when a customer is looking at a carpet board and a mouse runs out!  I am sitting on top of my desk now and I am scared to get down to go home!

Re: i am having a stare down with a mouse

  • Yuck!  No I wouldn't want to be looking at a carpet board and a tiny little mouse run out!
  • I am petrified of mice.  I seriously wouldn't be able to go back in my office until I knew it was gone!

  • We have an infestation...literally.  But because I work at the vet school we cannot use poison.  Only glue traps.  It is NASTY.

Glue traps?! REALLY?!  Those things are so cruel!  Can't you use live/humane traps.  Its sorta ironic...you working at the vet school helping animals, yet they treat others so cruely.

  • My sister works at the vet school also and they have a live trap she offered to let us borrow.  But those little suckers would just have to stay in there because I will not be the one emptying it!

We have absolutely no control over what they provide us with. We had to twist some arms to get anything.  But when you have mice running over your feet in the middle of the day, and clients are also complaining about them at night, we've taken what they gave us.

We'd be constantly emptying it.  We've caught upwards of 20 in the past month.

  • Amy I would DIE!  I guess you just get use to it though?
  • I like animals, all about nature but this grosses me out, ewww!!!  They shouldn't be in the workplace!!!!  I think it's the gluetraps that gross me out - but I can see that you take what you can get from how Amy describes it.
