Re: mortgage brokers

  • If you have the time I recommend shopping around first. go to your own bank.  You already have a relationship with them.

If you are a first time home buyer there are some great programs out there.  Landmark is one of them. I personally use Great Midwest Bank.  I have used them for 3 houses I have bought so far and have loved them.  Tammi at the Brookfield office is great.  If you are more pressed for time a broker may be a better option. You can save a little money by doing your own legwork, but that may not be worth the headache of shopping around.   I have never used one to close on a house so I have no personal recommendations.

  • We went through Wells Fargo for our mortgage. Gail is the woman's name we used, but I don't remember her last name. We went through the office on Layton and Howell by the airport. She was really nice and very helpful throughout the process.
