Thanksgiving Menus?

What is everyone planning to eat for Thanksgiving?  Will it be at your house or somewhere else?  Are you cooking everything or is the fam bringing food too?

We are having T-Day at our house.  Everyone will bring something.  I'm making the Turkey (or we may buy a deep fried one from a restaurant).  I'm also making a chocolate dessert...not sure what yet exactly.  And I'll provide the cranberry sauce and turkey gravy.  My sisters and mom will be bringing:
Sweet potato casserole
Green beans
Deviled eggs
Corn bread dressing
Peach cobbler
Asian slaw (the kind with the Ramen noodles in it)
Corn casserole
Broccolli casserole

I'm hungry just thinking about it!

Re: Thanksgiving Menus?

  • We are going to my parents' house for T-giving. This is what we're having (what I know of):

Rotisserie turkey, garlic mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, rolls, tabouleh, meshi (we're part Syrain..my gma is 100% and will be making these dishes). For dessert we're having pumpkin pie, apple pie and I may make a pear bread pudding.

I think I'm missing a couple things..all I know is that I'm going to eat myself in to a turkey coma. :)?

  • We are traveling on Thanksgiving day.  So lunch will be in Augusta and dinner in Opelika.  I seriously doubt I'll be cooking.
  • Hickory Smoked turkey from Bates Turkey Farm, cornbread dressing, gravy, jelly cranberry sauce and cranberry/orange sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole with the pecan and coconut topping, brussels sprouts, corn casserole, mac & cheese, crescent rolls, pickled beets ( long story ) Dr. Pepper for Brandon, coke, tea for the rest of us, pumpkin cream cheese pie (Paula's recipe) and Lauren is bringing wildrice casserole and her famous vegetable casserole. Wow...that is a LOT of food. LOL

  • I'm working on what I'm going to make now as B and I decided late last night it would just be us.  We invited the intern in his office as she has to work too and she is from Iowa and won't be able to go home either.  I am going to order a ham and then just fix a few sides.  I told her it was low key, she could come over in her sweats and we'd watch movies or football - just to relax!!!!

I know I'll do mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, rolls, fruit, maybe my mac&cheese, and not sure what else.  Trying to keep it simple since there will just be the 3 of us!!!  and B is SUCH a picky eater.  He doesn't even like turkey (wth!?!?!?)

  • We're going to my parents' house and my mom is doing the majority of the cooking.  Her side of the family is coming and they'll be bringing some of the sides (including my aunt's sweet potato casserole that I LOVE).  I think we'll have turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, rolls, green bean casserole, and desserts.  I'm making apple crisp and I'll be going this weekend to get the ingredients.
    Siggy coming soon....
  • We will be at my parents and usually have--turkey, gravy, dressing, cranberry sauce, asparagus casserole, sweet potato casserole, rolls, waldorf salad, some desserts, and I cant remember what else.
  • My parents are coming into town, and we are doing Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow!  I am making everything from scratch except for the rolls (and obviously the meat).

    Honeybaked Ham
    Cornbread dressing
    Sweet potato casserole
    Macaroni and cheese
    Corn and wild rice casserole
    Glazed carrots
Aunt is bringing a broccoli rice casserole
    Yeast rolls

    Desserts:
    Dark chocolate cake
    Classic pumpkin pie
    Apple spice cookie bars

I feel like I'm forgetting something.... but I think that's all!

  • We always go to MIL's house in Florida for Thanksgiving. It's tradition that she and DH cook together from his grandma's recipes and we all help. Usually we have turkey, stuffing, gravy, cornbread casserole, green bean casserole, sometime sweet potato casserole...I think I am forgetting something... it is always so good :) They also make chocolate peanut butter pie too :)

  • We are going to be staying here, Jarrett has to work until 2:30.  That means I'll be cooking :)  We are going to see my family on Friday, so I wanted to cook something different since we will have the usual turkey, ham, dressing, etc. then.  I am cooking:

    Pot Roast
    Mashed potatoes
    Green beans
    English peas
    Corn
    Mac n cheese

Not sure if there will be much else since it's just the 2 of us.  I will fix some kind of dessert but I haven't decided what yet.  Jarrett said he wanted chicken casserole too, but I told him I would cook that on Wednesday night and he could eat the leftovers on TG day, lol.

  • I have NO idea.  We're going up to North Alabama to my FI's family, and since they all live up there, we just show up.  I know there will be chicken n dumplins, since I asked his mom to make them.  I'm guessing turkey, ham, green beans, creamed corn, stuffing (or dressing as they call it) and other stuff.  I don't know.  I said in a post several weeks ago that the food up there is weird to me, so I'll pretty much stick to a little turkey and the dumplins.
