  • Looking forward to a Vegas trip with my best friend 12/7-12/9. We've only seen each other 1 time since she moved to Denver last Feb. We've got some details to go over for her upcoming wedding and then we're going to party!

Also looking forward to dh's holiday party on 12/13. His company always gives away huge doorprizes and has asent out a memo stating that this year will no different. Top prize is the company pays your mortgage for a year! Here's hoping for some good luck that night.

I'm dreading all of the visitors that we're having next week. MIL and FIL will be here next week and then ex and his new wife will visit after ILs leave. Luckily nobody is staying with us, but I just never feel like my house is clean enough for long term visitors anymore.

I'm not looking forward to Michaela leaving for 2 weeks at christmas time. While I think that it's great that she'll get to spend that time with her dad, it'll be the longest she's ever been away from home and the first time she's been away for the holidays. I'm doing everything I can to not let her see that I'm sad about it but I have a feeling that I'll break down after she leaves.

  • Looking forward to:

    1.  Birthday

    2. Christmas and Thanksgiving

    Not looking forward to:

    3. My 2 week holiday break

    1. I'm not looking forward to getting our house "guest" ready for next week's festivities

    2.  Getting dental work done while I'm on break. :-(

    3. My same position in the 'new' organization that starts on dec 1(after the merger) - it sucks and I'm losing a lot of my old perks. :-(

  • I'm looking forward to:

    1. Spending Thanksgiving in Tennessee.

    2. A trip to Vegas by myself in early January.

    Not looking forward to:

    1. DH's holiday party. Can't stand the peeps (supposed friends) he works with or their behind-your-back-talking SOs.

    2. The future of the company I work for.

  • 1. Making tamales w/ the family

    2. Going to Vegas w/ Dh :)

  • Good:

    1) Taking my mom to a super-nice dinner for her 60th birthday

    2) hosting Thanksgiving again (b/c I'm a bad-ass cook!); remember the lesson from last year's unsuccessful pumpkin-pecan pie (don't leave "spill foil" at the bottom of the oven lest your pie be raw at the bottom); and being able to enjoy some Champagne this year (I was pg last year)

    Bad:

    1) hosting Thanksgiving --the cleaning, the prep, renting chairs, setting up, DH's picky-eating relatives, and cleaning up all over again --whew!

    2) Christmas. I freaking hate Christmas. It's like being the kid of divorced parents all over again -get up, go to my mom's, open presents, rush out, go to his mom's, open presents, rush out, go to his cousin's house, have dinner at 2, open presents, then sit around being joyous and there isn't any wine. I wish we could either host it here, or just stay home.

  • Looking forward to

    1. Thanksgiving break from my class.

    2. Seeing how Thanksgiving is going to work at my SIL's house.  She just had a boob job last week and decided to host Thanksgiving dinner, I think she's crazy.  We'll get dinner and a show =)

    2 things dreading

    1. Christmas....I'm a grinch this year

    2.  Work on Monday
