Oh my gosh, Clarksville finally has curbside recycling!!

DH and I have always tried to be green, even before this trend emerged in the last year or so.  We both grew up in homes that recycled, used cloth towels for wiping up spills, low flow shower heads, etc.

Anyways, we've always hated that Clarksville is the un-green-est town ever.  (Seriously, take 15,000 soldiers and give 'em three beers a day - I'm joking, but after a weekend of a partying, you could build a car with the aluminum put in the trash.) 

So I was just looking on Craigslist (the Clarksville Craigslist is new-ish, too, btw! super psyched about that!) and not only did I find a *green* maid service, I discovered the curbside recycling company!  And the recycling is only $10/month!  Unbelieveable and so exciting!!

i still can't get over that it isn't mandatory in franklin and we have to pay someone to come pick it up or drive 10 miles to drop it off at a recycle center.

Curbside recycling's not available where we lived in SE Nashville, not even a paid service.  Since the city services district hasn't expanded since 1967 or whatever, there should at least be a service you can pay for.  DH and I weren't fans of having to drop off recyclables...always in the sketchy parts of town, too.

I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when we moved here and our neighborhood has curbside recycling (except for glass). Much better than Texas at least!

That is great! I moved from an area that had mandatory recycling.  I was surprised too that we don't have any competition in trash pick up here.  You have to use the city, and it's included in your utility bill. (also no competition)
