Hi All!
My husband and I are looking to "adopt a family" this holiday season. We have elected to not exchange gifts with eachother but rather share our good fortune with a family that could use some help.
I am having a terribly hard time trying to find a family... somene mentioned that maybe a church would have a bulletin or something?
well it's getting closer to the holiday season and we need to start shopping for whatever family we can! Does anyone know of any families?? any help would be great!
you can email me at lillygraziani @ gmail.com
Thanks!!!!
xoxo!
Re: adopt a family
My company usually coordinates our employees' holiday giving through the Childrens' Home Society. You can sponsor families or individual children. The ladies who collect the donations every year are super-sweet and so appreciative. They're a great organization. They've been around for a long, long time and they do so many good things for children in the community.
We have also in the past donated through the Coalition for the Homeless. They're a great organization, too, but they run the drop offs a little different, in that we're usually asked to deliver the donations direct to the family. I think if I were giving as an individual, I might feel less comfortable with that approach, but that's just personal preference.
Hope this helps! Have fun shopping for whoever you sponsor.
