Just got back from Twilight
Let me say I liked it but I really liked the book soooo much better. The movie just didn't do the romance between Bella and Edward justice. And I was really disappointed in the meadow scene, and that they added parts that weren't in the book. Oh and the car Edward drove in the movie is not like I pictured it in the book. But I know that they had to edit or else the movie would have been like 4 hours long! But overall I enjoyed it.
My friend let me borrow the last three books so I am fixing to start New Moon. I have some suspicions about Jacob 
that I am hoping will get answered in this book.

I just bought Twilight today and I just read Chapter 1. I may read some more before I go to bed. If I finish the book by Friday, DH and I are going to see the movie.

as for the volvo.yeah, it's not the right one. Stephenie Meyer has pictures of all the cars in the series on her website and his car isn't a hatchback

They are pretty quick reads which is good to know seeing as how they are 500+ pages long...
My let downs on the movie...I thought Rosalie would be much prettier...I also thought Mike Newton was way nerdier looking than written in the book. The whole movie I knew I had seen both Carlisle and Esme before in something...Esme I figured out...she was Rebecca/Ava on Greys...Carlisle I only figured out when I got home and looked it up. Remember the movie Can't Hardly Wait that came out in like 1998 or so? The guy who played Mike Dexter played Carlisle...it's not like I really remember things like that but it was on about a month or two ago on FX on like a Sunday afternoon..
The guy that played Carlisle is also married to Jennie Garth (Kelly from 90210) in real life.
The guy that played James I have seen somewhere as well but I can't place it.
Oh and I agree with you about the guy that played Mike. In the book he seemed a lot more macho/jockish.
The guy that played James was Kevin Volchok on The O.C. Jasper was also on a few episodes of The O.C., he was a part of Johnny's surfer crowd. Rosalie played Sadie, Johnny's cousin, on (surprise!) The O.C., her and Ryan dated for a little while on the show.
I was a huge O.C. fan, if you can't tell...lol
I absolutely LOVED the movie. I was highly disappointed in the meadow scene, yet I think the baseball scene totally made up for it. I think they could've let out the added in scenes (not from the book) to add in the Seattle trip (which wasn't mentioned) and also developed a more deeper relationship b/w Bella and Edward. It seemed really rushed, not at all like the love story in the book. The book is definitely better, but I can honestly say the movie was wonderful and followed the book better than I thought it would.
Also, James played in a movie called Never Back Down, it was like a street fighting movie. Plus Emmett plays in the new 90210 series.
That's it!! I knew I had seem something with him in it. Sorry to the PP but I have never watched the OC so I didn't recognize him from that
But I saw the movie Never Back Down and it was just bugging me all through the Twilight movie that I had seem "James" in something else.
Can I just say how obesessed I have become with this book series and the movie?? I want to see it again!
I do agree with them not having as much romance as in the book, I wish they would have played that up more...the touching, body language, her getting flustered just by looking at him, all of that stuff that wouldn't have cost any more to do. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
