To take a Pregnancy test or not...

I feel stupid asking this, because I know I should just to have piece of mind...but tell me what you think (might be TMI, but oh well):

Went off BC in the beginning of September - that was also my last cycle. So here we are at the end of November and guess what I haven't had. We are talking nothing - no cramps, spotting nada.

DH and I starting using other methods of BC in September right after I got my last period.

I know that it takes a while for your body to get used to being off the pill - but 3 months?

Opinions?

Re: To take a Pregnancy test or not...

  • Better take a trip to the dollar store!  ;)  But yeah, I think it's possible to go that long w/o a period after stopping birth control.

  • I would take one just to be sure.

  • I would take one also.
  • take test, have some peace of mind.  no worries!  xoxoxo
  • BCP leaves your body after 24 hours which is why it is so important to take it at or close to the same time everyday. That being said, you can get pregnant right after stopping the pill. With Allison, I took my last pack in August, ovulated in September,  and got a positive pregnancy test in October. It takes longer for some women to have regular cycles again, but my body is like clockwork.

I guess wha tI'm saying is...the only way to know is to take a pregnancy test! Get thee to a Dollar Tree for some cheapie(but just as effective) HPTs!!!! *I swear I didn't mean to make that rhyme. lol.

  • How long has it been since your last period?

The pill made me so wacky.  I would spot and cramp when I shouldn't with it, but off it, I was like clock-work. I would test just for piece of mind.

I would also recommend getting a good test, all the cheap ones said (-) when I was pregnant with Katie, until I got one of those ones that said "pregnant"

  • I would test and call your Dr. either way. ?I personally have never used the dollar store tests, but have used the store brands, and have gotten BFP with them.

    ?

  • Might as well test, I didn't get my period for 4 months after I stopped bcp so it's definitely not unheard of.
