Effing snow

I really hate when it snows and I get nothing out of it other than a headache.  I almost got hit by the plow in my development this morning--did he not see me cleaning my car off?!  The roads were only half plowed and the 295/76 interchange thing was a mess.  I get out of my car at work and almost fell on my @$$.  I had to grab my car so I didn't fall down.  On top of that, our street is under construction so I had to walk half a mile through sleet and crazy wind (we're right on the water) carrying my purse, my lunch, 2 huge water bottles, 2 school books, 2 binders and a massive laptop.

Can you tell I'm miserable and wish I would have stayed home?!  How was everyone else's commute?  I'm so jealous of you teachers!

Re: Effing snow

  • that sounds awful, i am sorry.  i havent decided if i will go out today.  i need to get salmon for recipe tonight, paint at home depot (i am redoing stepdaughter's bedroom), and dry cleaning.  but i am not sure if today is a great day to run errands with baby.  maybe later this afternoon the roads will be better.

  • I'm working at home for now.  My boss wants me to see how it looks at noon and then come in.  It is still snowing where I live and we have about a foot of snow right now.
  • Awww Izzy that really sucks!  We got a call around 8:30 last night that school was closed today.  H got up this morning and started shoveling and digging his way out and then his boss sent a text that he was closing the office and he could work from home.

My kids are so cute, I think this is the most snow they've ever seen.  Their grandmother gave them a big giant inflatable snowflake sled one year and they've never been able to use it.  It's still coming down pretty steady right now, but I think we'll take them sledding later if it clears up a little.

  • I'm pissed that we are off again....we are gonna be in school till July at this rate!!!  Is it SPRING yet!!!
  • On top of everything, there was a power surge here around 8am and all email and internet was down.  I thought I was going to lose my mind.  At 8:30 H's work closed, so now he's home and I'm still here.  It's still snowing like crazy and I'm supposed to have class tonight.
  • wasnt it 60 on friday?  how do we hav 10in today?

Sorry Izzy that does suck!  I stayed home today.  I was worried that they said that there was another phase of snow coming and I know that the roads by work are never cleared or salted until well after the snow.  I didnt want to drive 40 minutes and get stuck there.

  • I hate snow. I knew we were going to get one more storm this year.

Luckily I work from home and DH elected to work from home today too.

  • Sorry you had to go through all of that.  Hope today's a better day for you.  You'd think my work would get their act together. and that they could make the call before 8:30.  I appreciated your H's call.  I had planned to stay home sick, but was happy to let my friends know so they didn't have to make the treck in.  In all other instances I would have already been on the road.
