NBR: Who else is gardening?

I just put a stake beside each plant (I think I have 10) and then used garden twine to put another stake running along the top of each pole going left to right and then did the same thing up and down, if that makes any sense. I saw something similar online and then just kind of did what worked with what we had. Lol- and I have also spent several summers as a camp counselor, teaching kids to make nature structures so I kind of just did that. Who knew my teepee making days would help me garden?

I actually think that we bought the wrong size bamboo- Mine is bout the thickness of a fat crayon- and I was scared that it wouldn't hold once the plants got heavy, but so far it's doing great!

Me too! I was like "oh man! We'll be having green beans every night!" but they are kind of duds now. I wonder if this is just normal?

I picked what to plant and all my seeds so haphazardly that I didn't really research what a normal harvest season would produce.

My garden kind of sucks but that's because I have no idea what I'm doing and because I have a newborn so the garden kind of got put on the back burner. I swear I'm going to have a good garden next year! Every year I say that but next year I really mean it!

I have wanted a garden for years. My husband promised me a garden when we moved into our current place over a year ago. We had to clean up the house and yard so I had to wait until the ivy could be tamed. I has been but it seems that the ivy has drained the yard of being able to do anything but grow ivy. Short of pulling up all the dirt and putting in new I will have to figure out how to do the gardening I would like in pots.

My husband is kinda iffy on that idea. He thinks that no matter what we were to do all we would get is fern again. He is also thinking about putting in some sprinklers. If that happens large parts of the yard may be dug up, so I might not have to do as much digging. We will see what happens in the next few months.
