FRIDAY CONFESSIONS!

Re: FRIDAY CONFESSIONS!

  • Confession: I HATE my knot/nest screen name. It was a combination of my screen name and my husband's screen name. We thought it was so clever when we were searching wedding stuff on the knot. Now I feel like it's the name of a porno.

    LOL.

My knot name is my name and middle name. It is also the name of a porn star.

Way back when, my screen name was first initial and last name. I wanted something more private so I came up with my current one. I was reading a lot of Southern books at the time, so I used CeeCee (Saving CeeCee Honeycutt). Sugarbaker (from Designing Women) but changed it to SugaPie instead. Anyhow. I kind if feel like my screen name is a little silly now, but am too lazy to bother changing it. I also use it for Pinterest.

  • I still like mine.  I changed it when I moved over from the Knot, though.  My knot name was ministerswife2b, and I felt like people edited themselves in front of me (kinda like in real life).  Not fun!  I'm the least traditional minister's wife on the planet, or even the universe.  Please don't edit yourself for me.  It's insincere!

  • We're (we = me and her other BMs who she's super close to) planning a shower for my future SIL and the plan was always for it to be non-traditional, just a casual thing with a Stock The Bar theme on a late Saturday afternoon. Somewhere along the line it got pushed later on Saturday, made into Jack & Jill, and to a private room in a bar (cash bar).  I'm fine with all this but for some reason I'm afraid to tell my mom and relatives that the shower pretty got turned into a night at the bar.

We bought a Dyson DC50 Animal about a month ago, but we still have the box because the cats love it.  We call it Kitty Clubhouse, and I'm considering making a slipcover for it and making it into a real cat toy/house.

  • Twice in the passed 2 weeks I did the laundry and left it in the clean laundry baskets, so instead of going to my closet for a shirt or my dresser for socks I have to go dig through the laundry basket. I am even thinking about making it 3 times in 3 weeks this weekend... I just dont feel like folding laundry lol!

I fold the clothes so they get too wrinkly but leave the folded clothes in the basket (I hate putting them away.)  I have even bought another basket because I needed one and the other was filled with folded clothes.

That is what I used to do until we got a dryer with a steam cycle. Amen for that, but now I feel even less inclined to fold the crap.

The other week I tried doing a small load of laundry every night. It was nice not have a mountain of clothes to do on the weekend. Don't know if I will be able to keep up with that schedule though.

I've done this the last two or three weeks too. I pick out the shirts and pants that need to be hung up, but anything else like socks, underwear or pjs have just been left in the basket. Part of me feels embarrassed but part of me just doesn't care. :)

I have a shoebox on my living room floor from ...February?  They really like it! I can't take that joy away from them!

(I also have a large Dell computer box in the middle of the room with a small hole in one end. It's the feeding box for my smaller cat, because the big piggy cat is on a diet; she can't fit through the hole. I keep meaning to paint or decorate the box, but I haven't gotten around to it.)

  • Today is our interns last day before she leaves for school and although everyone is sad to see her go I am SO HAPPY! She has been a pain in my butt the entire time she's been at the firm.  Yippee!

  • I have to clean my entire 2 bedroom apartment this evening in less than hour. I'm considering it a personal challenge and may even play "Flight of the Bumblebee" while I do it.

I have watched LOST and hated it.
This is even worse. Booney, WHAT?
It started out great.  I LOVED the first season.  Then it just got more convoluted and confusing and they kept introducing new story lines without clearing up other story lines and then there were even more characters and problems and it just got to be too ridiculous and I got pissed because I never got to find out what anything ever meant.
This was exactly how I felt. I loved the first season. The second season was okay, but by the end of that season (or maybe the beginning of the third), I realized that they were never going to answer my questions, and I lost interest (and respect).

I couldn't bring myself to care about a show that just kept introducing questions and mysteries without ever answering them.

IMO, the problem was that after the 2nd season, they didn't seem to know where to go with things because they didn't know how long the show would last.  They kept introducing new storylines & ideas.  Once they decided on a set number of seasons & a definite end date, they finally started wrapping up ideas & providing answers.

Also, there were a couple seasons where they would be one new episode then re-runs for a week or two.  It was really hard to keep up with everything with such long breaks in between

All of the above can be said about another JJ Abrams show, Fringe!  :)

  • I am currently at Starbucks waiting to meet with a friend from my old job - solely for the purpose of hearing how bad things have gotten since I left.  If she had nice things to say I'd be super disappointed.

  • I'm very excited that my husband has to work all weekend.
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • Last year on my birthday I was in Hawaii because my husband got called very last minute to do a job there (as in the night before the flight).  Because it was so last minute they paid all expenses for me as well.

Even though I spent most of the time we were there alone, it was awesome!

It's my birthday today, and I gotta say, it kind of sucks.  And I feel like a brat for even thinking it.

  • There is a cute British boy sitting next to me in Starbucks.  It's kind of killing me, but since he's with his girlfriend I'll have to use some self control and avoid jumping him.

  • I helped a friend of mine get a new job but that means she's leaving.  I'm really happy for her because it's the sort of job that's right up her alley but I'm going to miss her.

  • Hey, LOST people, judge away...

I watched EVERY SINGLE EPISODE faithfully except...

    the last season.

I have no idea how it ends and I don't want to. I'm sure I'll be disappointed, so I refuse to finish the series. haha.
I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

  • @skeezon It does answer SO many questions.  Not every single one, but I'd say a good 90-95%.  How do you not want to know how it ends?!

  • Since we're talking TV shows, I've never watched Downton Abbey and have no desire to.

Also, my sister's bachelorette party is tomorrow and I'm having all sorts of anxiety about it. Going out drinking and dancing all night feels so weird now that I'm an old married woman who usually hangs out at home or does something low key with friends on a Saturday night. I'm sure it will probably be fun and it's all about giving my sister a good time anyway, but my introverted self is getting all worried about it.

I have a problem of starting a million new projects and then only finishing them like 90%. This includes everything from craft projects, laundry, house renovations, cleaning, etc. It's horrible! My house is filled with projects that are like 5 minutes from being finished, but I just can't bring myself to finish them!!
This is so me too. I get excited at the beginning of a project and get so close to finishing and then get pulled away and have the hardest time going back to finish the darn thing.

I love Downton but agree that it's not for everyone.
