    What I want to accomplish:

    1) Finish my resume
    2) Can some pickles, hopefully tonight
    3) Stick to my points

    How?

    1) I really want J to submit his resume to his dream job that he's terrified to apply to so I told him I'd update mine as well.  Since it's mostly for him, that's motivation enough.
    2) Get everything prepped and washed before Wes goes to bed so I have plenty of time tonight to do it.
    3) Tracking my points daily.  Not beat myself up about any slip ups.
Canning Pickles?? How do you do this...I love pickles!!!
Is that the right term? Maybe it's pickling cucumbers? I'm not sure.  It's my first time doing it, but I've canned a few times so we'll see!

This is the recipe we are going to follow.

    http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Fast-Favorite-Garlic-Dill-Pickles-230707

The terminology sounded fine with me...hmmm very interested! Will have to give these a shot :-) Thanks!

  • I want to organize my cookbooks, linen closet and under the kitchen and sinks.

How an I going to accomplish this...I will probably need to look through every single cookbook that I have and figure out if I should keep it in the kitchen or somewhere else.  I will end up with too many in the kitchen, get frustrated then put them all in the basement.  As for the other organizing, I will probably just throw everything in the closet/under the sinks and hope that it rearranges itself to my needs.

I have 4 goals for this week.

    1. Make a list of everything we need to pack for vacation (packing for a 9 day vacation with a 5 month old is not easy!).

    2. Finish sewing kitchen curtains.

    3. Sew shopping cart/high chair cover.

    4. Fix my siggy so I'm not 63 weeks pregnant anymore!

  • My "special" chores this week are to clean the laundry room and vacuum the stairs.

I also want to do something physical/fitness-y every day this week. Today I did 20 minutes of yoga. I pilled out all my different exercise videos so I can't use the weather as an excuse.

What do you want to accomplish this week? I want to get at least one more round of revisions done on my MS this week. I have reader comments coming in tonight, so hopefully I'll have some clear direction on what to do first. I also want to finish reading a friend's MS and giving comments on it. And lastly, I want to get back on my healthy eating kick because I've been eating my feelings for the past two weeks and it's starting to show.

How are you going to go about doing that? I'm bringing my lap top with me every day to work so I can work through lunch, and working after Liam goes to bed. And I brought lunch today. Grapes instead of chips - progress, people.

I need to get bills paid, figure out my dad's birthday gift, pack and just flat out survive until Saturday at 2pm when we are headed to the cabin for a week.

I want to finish cataloguing the Auto Gallery, write label copy for the Delorean we're getting on Sunday, not clobber my boss for taking in junk on donation/loan at the museum, clip the cats' nails before they go to the V-E-T on Friday, replace the air freshener bulbs (read: got to B&BW).

How am I going to accomplish this?  Pray that tomorrow's staff meeting doesn't go overlong.  The rest will fall into place.

  • What do you want to accomplish this week?  -- I want to finish the book I am currently reading so I can get to the four I have to read before the end of October so I can give them to my Dad.  And I want to re-arrange my shelves to add my new purchases.

How are you going to go about doing that? -- I read 7 chapters of the current book before tap class last night and I am planning on taking it to bed early until I finish.  As for the shelves, I just have to set aside time to move the books about.  I also need DH's help to move the sofa; some of the books are on shelves that are behind the sofa.  I also have to box up the books I need to donate, and find someplace to donate them.

  • Get some headbands sewed for my niece's birthday present. Run 2 mornings before DH leaves for work. Figure out what to do with All the tomatoes in my garden.
How? Get down to my sewing room Wed night after kids are in bed. It's in my calendar and the alarms are set for Wed and Fri am. Poke around on Pinterest(which is no hardship).

I need to pack for the cottage. We leave on Thursday and i haven't started yet.
I also need to figure out how to make myself nap during the day.
I will do these by taking advantage of my moms last day here tomorrow. Get her to bring me down all the baby things from his room since i can't go up myself. I will also get her to watch Alex while i take a nap.
@snshine @sheperdjel- yay for making pickles! J made mine up for me last week. I have a couple of great and fairly easy recipes if you want them in the future. One is for sweet sliced dills that is to die for. Good luck!

  • I'm a day late, but here goes:

    1. Make our meal plan and grocery list for the next two weeks.
    2. Write some of my book.
    3. Order a new dresser from Ikea and get a new light fixture for the kitchen.

    To get them done:

    1. Browse Pinterest and the bajillion cooking magazines I have for a few new recipes, get the store circular, and see what I already have in the pantry/fridge.
    2. Stop being lazy!
    3. Wait till I get paid Thursday... then shop!! :)

  • My daughter is getting her tonsils and adenoids taken out tomorrow, so my goal is to put aside everything else and just try to comfort and take care of her as much as possible.  She's only 3 (4 in a few weeks), and she already had to get tubes in her ears a month ago, and I've about had it with all that my poor little girl has been through (she also has celiac disease and was sick most of the year with colds, strep throat, ear infections, etc.).  We are hoping this is the beginning to a healthy year.
Sorry about the rant... I'm just trying to mentally prepare myself for her recovery.

    sneetches

I've followed weight watchers for about 7 years off and on.  The current plan right now is by far the best yet.  You can eat fruits and and most veggies for 0 points, and what I've found works for me, is eating a smaller breakfast and fruit to fill me up, and smaller lunch, with fruit or veggies to fill me up and then a decent dinner.  I usually save my extra points for the weekends or for wine or other "cheats" like dessert, etc.

Definitely do the e-tools and take advantage of the points calculator/app and also the recipe builder.

I have a Weight watchers pinterest board.

Thanks for the advice.  I made my usual breakfast today, and it was almost half of my available points!  This is going to take some adjusting.
  • What I want to accomplish this week:
I want to vacuum my apartment.

What I should do to accomplish this goal:
I should get off my ass right now and vacuum my apartment.

What I will probably do instead:
Wait until the eleventh hour (my sister is coming over tonight to pick up some stuff, and I don't want her to see the explosion of animal hair everywhere, so I know I will eventually vacuum) and vacuum right before I have to head out the door to work.

  • Good news! I vacuumed!

  • Goals:

    1. Clean my van
    2. Clean out fridge
    3. Wash kitchen cupboards
    4. Keep up with my exercising and eating right
    5. Grocery shopping
    6. Finish both the books I am reading

    How:
I've got my to do list ready and the week off work so I'm hoping that will motivate me some.  Thursday is payday and grocery shopping day so I want to clean the fridge tomorrow while it's almost empty. Keep logging into My Fitness Pal to keep track of my workouts and meals.  It's been working so far so I need to keep at it.
