Intro!

As promised, @panderp!

Hello ladies! My name is Louise, my DH is Sam. We've been married for almost a year, together for almost 6. We met in college in New York, but we currently live in London. We moved across the pond for graduate school, and we have four more years until we move back to the US, PhDs in tow. This brings me to why I've been lurking in silence for a while- we're nowhere near being ready to TTC. We're waiting at least until we're back in the US, probably a bit longer to get settled in jobs before starting anything.

I don't remember now what pulled me to this board, but I've been lurking and reading for about a year now. I love this community so so much. You are all smart, strong, unbelievably brave women, and I'm hoping and praying and sending good vibes to all of you. I will definitely start being more vocal about such now that I'm coming out of lurkerdom.

Oooooh that can be a long list! There are a bunch of historic pubs that are gorgeous and really fun, we've done a historic pub crawl before that is a really nice walk through the city. Starts at the Princess Louise in Holborn, then Ye Old Cheshire Cheese, the Blackfriar, and the George. The George can be left off if necessary, it's a longer walk than the other three.

Which museums are you planning on seeing? (I'm assuming you're going to see at least a few!) The British Museum is unmissable, there's a 'highlights' tour on the map the museum provides if you have limited time. There are a ton of other museums, it really depends what you're interested in. The Museum of London has a lot of social history, the V&A is mostly decorative arts and is one of my personal favorites.

I know you've said you're super interested in Parliament- I've heard rumor of a tour that allows you to climb the clock tower and actually see Big Ben, but I have yet to figure out exactly how that works. I'll be looking into that soon and will keep you posted!

I'm going to keep thinking on this, too. So much to do!

Is Ye Old Cheshire Cheese touristy?  We really love to hit "locals" and non-touristy places.  I read about this pub, but wasn't sure what it would be like.

The list so far includes Parliament (of course), Tower of London, The Book of Mormon, Hyde Park, Portobello and Borough Markets, Churchill War Rooms, Westminster, perhaps the Jack the Ripper Walk.
