Re: TTC CHECK IN

  • How many months/cycles have you been TTC? 4 Months/2nd Cycle
Where are you in your cycle?CD17
Have you done anything different or plan to? Took my first OPK on Tuesday. Not sure why I did, but my EWCM was hopeful. Nope, stark white.
Anything good or bad happen this week in regards to TTC or life in general? We have been having very in depth conversations about our future lately, and I think I'm over discussing them.  We have been going back and forth between hardcore TTC and testing, or paying off our student loans to better set ourselves up for the future. I finally told H last night that I don't want to talk about it anymore this week.
Any plans for testing? No. Maybe another OPK if this EWCM sticks around.
    Thoughts, questions, concerns?

QOTD: If you had to relocate for work but could pick anywhere in the world to relocate to, where would you pick?
London. Hands down. If I weren't with H, I would've moved there right after college and never came back.

QOTD: Have you read any good books lately that you would recommend? Currently reading Hopeless by Colleen Hoover, and am almost done with it. It's gotten pretty good.

How many months/cycles have you been TTC? About to start the 8th month/4th cycle
Where are you in your cycle? CD15
Have you done anything different or plan to? Waiting to see if the Clomid works. I doubt it. First RE appointment on Tuesday. :-<
Anything good or bad happen this week in regards to TTC or life in general? I want the Clomid to work, but I have no faith for some reason. Hopefully the appointment next week gives me a plan and hope.
Any plans for testing? Just OPKs
Thoughts, questions, concerns? Every day I pee on a OPK and get a negative, they're not getting darker or anything. I dunno if I should do an OPK twice a day or what. Right now I do it when I get home from work around 5:30.  What do you ladies think?
QOTD: If you had to relocate for work but could pick anywhere in the world to relocate to, where would you pick? Hawaii or Florida. I wouldn't want to be outside the US because my parents and DH's parents would never get passports and visit us. It'd be all on us.
QOTD: Have you read any good books lately that you would recommend? Nope. I want to read but haven't been.

Where are you in your cycle? CD 16
Have you done anything different or plan to? Nope.
Anything good or bad happen this week in regards to TTC or life in general? I had some promising CM, so here's hoping something good comes out of it!
    Any plans for testing? No.
Thoughts, questions, concerns? I hope that this cycle is "normal" and not 50+ days again. We're also 3 weeks away from the 1 year mark of TTC, which happens to be on our anniversary. Good times. :-<

QOTD: If you had to relocate for work but could pick anywhere in the world to relocate to, where would you pick? Oh my. Denmark or Sweden, because I could travel around Europe for a lot less, and live in a cool place where it's not too hot.

QOTD: Have you read any good books lately that you would recommend? Ha, no.

  • How many months/cycles have you been TTC? Edging into month 14/cycle 11

Where are you in your cycle? CD 17

Have you done anything different or plan to? I might start using my OPKs again, probably starting tomorrow, since I think I've only O'd once before CD 20 since going off BC. I'll bring it up to DH and see how he reacts (he was not on board with using them back in the winter when I did for 1 cycle).

Anything good or bad happen this week in regards to TTC or life in general? Life in general: Bad: the refrigerator took a shit. Almost everything in the freezer had to be tossed, because we didn't have a clue for a couple of days (the fridge appeared to continue working normally). Good: that fridge was ancient (Amana brand; when did they stop making those??), and now we'll have a new, energy-efficient Kenmore.

Any plans for testing? Maybe just for O!

Thoughts, questions, concerns? Wondering if I should set up a consultation with my OB/GYN to talk about my long/irregular cycles. I'm curious if it could be affecting my egg quality.

QOTD: If you had to relocate for work but could pick anywhere in the world to relocate to, where would you pick? Absolutely somewhere tropical. Greece comes to mind as somewhere with amazing climate/beaches/waters, but still with a ton of history and culture and modernity that I think I'd really want available. Plus, it's close to Europe, and we'd be able to hit up plenty of vacation spots!

QOTD: Have you read any good books lately that you would recommend? I did just finish "The Kite Runner", but I know a lot of ladies here have already read that. I hadn't read anything newer before that (was on a rereading binge of older stuff), and I have every intention of starting to reread Outlander in anticipation of the next book and the series coming next spring!

How long is a normal cycle for you?  My OB said anywhere from 21-45 days is considered "normal" range for them.

Although I would definitely bring it to her attention.  Do you have an annual PAP soon that you could just ask about it at?

I would call and schedule it now. Are your cycles normal, or are you longer? If you are longer, then I would call and schedule it for anytime. That way they can get you set up for CD3 testing on your next cycle.

It wouldn't hurt to call and ask. See if you gyno wants to wait to see you at your annual or not. It's definitely not too early to call and ask.

Now that I'm looking: Starting with my December cycle, they've been anywhere from 35-44 days, though the majority have fallen around 40+/- a day or two. I guess that's not as "irregular" as I was thinking, but I thought I'd seen something about cycles being regularly 40+ days wasn't a great thing for TTC.

I'm not due for my next exam until end of January.

  • @transponster: Then I would just call and schedule the appointment or ask for the referral (not sure if you will need to see your OB first).

My OB prescribed Provera and told me to take it after 45 days, then wrote up the request for CD3 bloodwork and had me schedule to go over the results with the fertility OB.  Granted, mine all work in the same office. If you will need to go elsewhere for the RE, then I would call in and let them know that you are approaching a year of TTC and would like to know what they recommend you do next.

I guess that's not as "irregular" as I was thinking, but I thought I'd seen something about cycles being regularly 40+ days wasn't a great thing for TTC.

I'm not due for my next exam until end of January.
I'd call and ask. Especially since you're past the year mark.

Thoughts, questions, concerns? Wondering if I should set up a consultation with my OB/GYN to talk about my long/irregular cycles. I'm curious if it could be affecting my egg quality.

How long is a normal cycle for you?  My OB said anywhere from 21-45 days is considered "normal" range for them.

Although I would definitely bring it to her attention.  Do you have an annual PAP soon that you could just ask about it at?

Ditto. The least they can say is that it's normal and they don't see it affecting TTC.

  • guys, I thought you weren't supposed to use FMU with OPK's? Something about LH being produced in the morning thus not being in FMU?

    Confused newbie is confused.
  • How many months/cycles have you been TTC?  20 months/18 cycles
Where are you in your cycle? CD 8
Have you done anything different or plan to? This is the first cycle since May that we are actively trying.  We've decided to try on our own for 3-4 more cycles before IVF.  (H is convinced we did it before, we can do it again.  I'm not so sure.)  So I'm charting again this month.
Anything good or bad happen this week in regards to TTC or life in general? AF was 4 days early (last Thursday) and I had absolutely no warning.  On Monday, when it was actually due, I was bombarded with PMS - mood swings, cramps, fatigue.  But by then, AF was over.
Any plans for testing? OPKs probably starting Saturday or Sunday.
    Thoughts, questions, concerns?

QOTD: If you had to relocate for work but could pick anywhere in the world to relocate to, where would you pick?  North Carolina.

QOTD: Have you read any good books lately that you would recommend? I just finished Broken Harbor by Tana French.  Its the 4th Dublin Murder Squad book, and I loved it.

  • How many months/cycles have you been TTC? first cycle, take two.

Where are you in your cycle? CD 13 --waiting for O

Have you done anything different or plan to? Just have sex, lol. This weekend, woot.

Anything good or bad happen this week in regards to TTC or life in general? last time I was off BCP (TTC take one, like a year and a half ago, lol.) I would O around CD 15-18 ... which just so happens to be this weekend... which just so happens to be a time when H is off... which leading me to be like OMG this could happen! Then flip flop back to Guuurl you best check yourself. So anyways, we'll see what happens, I'm just excited to get laid. Regardless of how this cycle works, at this point I'll be all "DOESN'T MATTER--HAD SEX"

Any plans for testing? not yet.

    Thoughts, questions, concerns?
Damnit, I already asked in a seperate reply. About FMU and OPK's? I also read that you should hold your pee for like 4 hours before testing mid-day and that ain't happening... but then again, I've never had a definitely positive OPK. I usually get a line that is never darker than/as dark as the control line and then I get the shits of it and quit... so clearly I'm no expert, I may be doing it all wrong and read faulty advice on the interwebs (omg no way!)

QOTD: If you had to relocate for work but could pick anywhere in the world to relocate to, where would you pick? I like where I am. Maybe more north, but really, I'm content with where I am located.

QOTD: Have you read any good books lately that you would recommend? Nah, I'm not much of a reader. Mandatory reading in college really sucked all the joy out of reading for me.

  • "DOESN'T MATTER--HAD SEX"
Confession time: In college, H would play that while we showered after ST.

  • How many months/cycles have you been TTC? 9mos/9cycles
Where are you in your cycle? cd12
Have you done anything different or plan to?not right now
Anything good or bad happen this week in regards to TTC or life in general? TTC: DH is sick right now, and of course it is getting to that time of the month where we need to have some ST.  The dogs kept me up last night and my temp was raised.  I hope that I didn't O early or we are totally out for this month.  General: DH already met his yearly quota sales-wise for work! This is his first full year working in sales, and he is the first person to make quota.  This also means a free trip for us next year with his work all inclusive.  It will probably be to Mexico.
Any plans for testing? I keep telling myself that I am going to order some internet OPKs but forget.  I'm not sure what DH's response will be to doing this.  He is very much the it will happen when it happens, and does not want me to set the alarm on weekends to temp
Thoughts, questions, concerns? DH wants to have his bible study pray for us telling them that "we are going throught some things."  Ummm I don't want a bunch of men knowing that we are ttc or think that we are having marital problems.  Vent over.

QOTD: If you had to relocate for work but could pick anywhere in the world to relocate to, where would you pick?  If we could teleport, Europe.  Otherwise, I am completely boring and would say Kentucky or Nashville.  I miss being close to my family and hate that I don't get to see my cousins grow up.  We haven't even met DH's nephew who was born in April (mostly him not taking the initiative to plan it, if my sister had a baby, I would have been there right after it was born).

QOTD: Have you read any good books lately that you would recommend? I'm currently reading City of Bones.  I loved World War Z which I read a few months ago, and the Divergent series at the begining of the year.

I've heard both, but my OB/GYN said definitely use FMU. I did get an obvious + when I used one several months ago with FMU because the amount of EWCM I had compelled me to check, lol.
