Re: Thursday Randoms

  • While walking down the stairs in the parking garage this morning I walked into a spider web WITH A SPIDER STILL LIVING IN IT. I fell down half a flight of stairs and dropped my breakfast. :(

  • @banda522 this sounds terrible. I hope your day gets better.

I got a message from a book blogger who wants me to do a guest author post. Um, am I an author if my book is not published yet? Me thinks they did not do their research.
I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

Just signed the paperwork to renew our mortgage this morning and it gave me a massive headache, as sh!t like that always does. It's fine. It's actually saving us a butt load of money both short and long term, but it always feels like such a big commitment.

  • I got an unexpected day with my baby bear today. Even though the reason for it sucks (my mom is sick), I have been in a funk all week and I feel so much better today. I feel more refreshed already.

  • I need to delete Facebook. And Instagram. And Twitter. And Pinterest. And Gchat. And NBC. And all of the other distractions in my life that aren't REAL.

    But I won't.

    Sigh.

  • Something posted earlier this week had me so riled up I had to check out for a few days. I'm mostly just proud of myself for not saying something I'd regret and just letting people live in their ignorance instead. I feel better about myself and it got me thinking that I really need to work on that kind of restraint in my personal life as well.

Now I want to know what it was that got you riled up, but I don't want to ask, because I don't want you to have to exercise that kind of restraint again. lol.

  • My husband is on vacation next week, and his job just gave him tomorrow off because he worked 60 hours this week already. I'm jealous, and I really want to take a day off, too. I can't, because work is really busy right now with the start of school, but I am soooo tempted to have a headache.

I've decided to get back into pregnancy mode. Not that I'm trying to have another baby right away, but I was thinking last night about how during my pregnancy I was probably the healthiest I've ever been. I had quit smoking and was taking SUCH good care of myself physically and spiritually. I was eating really well (clean food, lots of fruits and veg), exercising regularly, doing yoga daily and doing things that just made me happy.

I made a commitment to myself last night that I'm going to get back to that because A) I just want to feel better and B) I can get my body refueled for when we are ready to start for baby #2, probably sometime in the next 5-12 months.

ETA: I should qualify that the "healthiest I've ever been" definitely didn't start until after my first-tri!

I just had to do a double take in the lobby of my office building because I thought I just saw you @snshne322 and I couldn't figure out what you would be doing in Boston.

  • Ha, sorry @NorthernLghts . It wasn't me!  I would rather be in Boston right now though.

  • It's gorgeous here today, so I have the windows thrown wide open and am enjoying the day.  Inside.  Because the sun makes my arms break out in hives.  It kinda sucks.  But I've got my kitties with me.

  • I baked cookies for a meeting this morning and people ate 3. I brought in 2 dozen cookies! They were home made peanut butter blossoms with Wilbur buds instead of crappy Hershey Kisses. I should have taken them out to offer them to the rest of the nursing unit, but I didn't like 95% of the people working today so I brought them home and will take them in to work with me tomorrow night. People who work night shit would never snub cookies like that.

haha good luck Booney. I almost never wear heels and I'm too cheap to spend money on shoes. I think it's been a year or so since I bought a pair and those were sneakers.

Haha, yes! If this means heels, I'm a hard sell. I don't know how you do it. Heels hurt SO BAD. My feet *literally* die. (I can say that now, it's IN THE DICTIONARY.) ;)

  • I've been editing myself online a lot lately.  A.  Lot.  Sometimes, it's not worth the ensuing fight.

  • I would definitely be more emotionally healthy if I gave up the internet. However, the thought of actually doing that makes me get the shakes. I would never even be able to give up Facebook for Lent. Even that amount of time would be too long.

  • My "too cool for school" 18 year old nephew just posted the most moving tribute to a friend of his who was killed in an ATV accident a few days ago. It's his first experience with the death of a peer and it has hit him hard. I'm crying at my desk.
