Re: Thursday Randoms

  • Something posted earlier this week had me so riled up I had to check out for a few days. I'm mostly just proud of myself for not saying something I'd regret and just letting people live in their ignorance instead. I feel better about myself and it got me thinking that I really need to work on that kind of restraint in my personal life as well.
And now it's going to kill me trying to figure it out!
    Me too!!!

Lol sorry, like I said, I'm glad I didn't say anything and I won't now. It really wasn't that offensive and I know it wasn't meant to be, it was just something that really hit me in a weak spot of mine.

I keep saying I'm going to delete my facebook, but it never happens.

I'm not afraid of judgment at all.  I tend to ask myself if it's worth the aggravation before I finish the thought.  Most of the time, it's not.

  • After yesterday's Wacky Wednesday poll, I want to do a shoe intervention on the NBC  X_X
haha good luck Booney. I almost never wear heels and I'm too cheap to spend money on shoes. I think it's been a year or so since I bought a pair and those were sneakers.
@NorthernLghts Not all pretty shoes have to be heels.  (I am just partial to heels myself) but there are plenty of cute shoes out there that are not heels.  Crocs and Tevas however, will never, ever be cute.

  • I bought some pretty striped loafers the other day, but I don't have anything to wear them with.  My wardrobe is limited post pregnancy since I know I will have a ton to wear in 10-ish pounds.

Also, I'm so excited loafers are coming back.  I hated them the first time around, but man, they are comfy!

I adore my Tevas! Tevas have come a long way, at least the non-standard ones. Not crocs, though. I can't get behind those.

Tevas I get because they are super functional, but I don't own any. I'm too cheap.

  • I actually bought 4 pairs of shoes yesterday. All flats for work though. No heels though. I can barely walk in them.

I got up super early this morning and have been cleaning all day and now I'm done and can relax in a clean home. My damn Motivational Monday post was haunting me all week haha.

  • I wish our neighbors would hurry up and move.  We've lived in our house for 4 years and have never had problems with any of our neighbors.  In fact, we are friends with most of the people on the street.  But last year a couple and their kids and their two stupid dogs moved in on one side of us, and we've had nothing but problems since.  Rather than talking to us about our dog barking when we are gone at work (we didn't even know this was a problem because we've talked to our other neighbors and they say they can't hear our dogs), they decided to just call animal control (mutiple times).  When I finally confronted the husband about it, he totally blamed it on his wife (obviously a stand up guy).  So, since then, we have done everything we can to keep our dogs quiet.  I understand people have a right not to have to listen to other people's dogs bark, but they could have at least talked to us about it.  We are reasonable people....

And to top things off, they have two yappy dogs of their own, that bark at us any time we are in our back yard.  They come to our fence and just start barking.  It's to the point that we don't often play in the back because I spend more time yelling at their dogs then playing with the kids.  I know I should just go talk to them, because it is the civilized, adult thing to do, but all I really want to do is call animal control on them and see how they like it.

I have started doing this! Even on days we don't even leave the house. Ally actually has fun trying on shoes and jewelry while I'm putting myself together. I never felt the need to do this when working at home, but when I'm just home with the kids all day it's a tiny "me" thing that makes the day a bit more fun :)

I'm sure my husband doesn't mind either, haha!

Walking in heels is a skill that has to be learned. The number of teenagers who think they can just jump into a pair of heals for a dance shocks me. There is a reason why there is a company out there that had made a baggie with a pair of ballet slipper shoes in it that you can put into your purse for when your feet hurt too much from the heels.

I wonder if the person who posted this knew that it would effect anyone that badly. If they do it again you may want to message them so they are aware they effected you so. I don't think anyone here would want to hurt anyone else on here.

  • We are almost done with our kitchen remodel, but we stopped at lowes today for simething for hubster's mom. We also looked at light fixtures for us. I love ceiling fans because I love a breeze and I've noticed they significantly lower cooling costs. Saving money? I'm all for it. But our house is devoid of ceiling fans. While we were price checking we heard two ladies talking about how useless ceiling fans are and that a person should just boost the ac and open windows. Mind boggling to me. Anyway, we came home with a ceiling fan kit on clearance for our kitchen. Thank goodness. The kitchen gets very hot during the day.

Lol I do okay for the first hour or two but after that I'm miserable. I know what you mean though. My youngest sister borrowed a pair from me for prom and ended up dancing barefoot.
