I found out two days ago that my brother-in-law and his girlfriend decided to stay in another rental near the cabin that the family rented for next week. My mother-in-law told us by saying, "bad news..." Me, I was ecstatic because I guess I'm a bad person.
The girlfriend has a very strong personality, and is way more hyper than I know how to deal with. I just want to relax on this trip. So, yeah I'm pretty glad that they decided to stay somewhere else. But jealous too, because it was a last minute thing for them and me and my husband would never be able to swing something like that last minute. For us, we plan things months, if not a year, in advance to make sure we can afford it.
But despite all my complaining about this trip, I am looking forward to relaxed reading, bike riding, swimming, kayaking, and hiking.

My job is easy but I dont like my coworkers and am thinking about looking for a new job just to find some people to work with. My coworkers I do not consider people because they are all very cold, very unfriendly, and super unprofessional and grumpy. Yes I said it- GRUMPY! I thought it was me that was the problem, because I was new and NO ONE would talk to me, then I just would sit and listen to them interact and I now know they are all bitter and mean. I try not to complain to DH about it, so I do not really talk about how unhappy I am at my job and find other things to enjoy during the day- like NBC!

I'm taking a personal day on Monday and I could not be more excited to bum around my house and do little things and read and snuggle my dogs. If it weren't for the lunch date I made with DH, I probably wouldn't change out of pajamas all day.

I had coffee with my old boss this morning before coming in to the office and asked her to be a reference as I start getting interviews. I feel so good about my decision to move on after talking to her, I know it's the right move.

A good friend is getting married next month. A lot of my college friends will be there and since I went to school out-of-state, I haven't seen many of them in a while. I could probably find a dress to wear from the back of my closet but I plan on buying a new dress. I want these people to look at me and think "It's been 9 years since we graduated...and she's 31...and a mom...but DAAAAAAAAAAAMMMNNNN!!!!"

(Sidenote - I still can't figure out how to see someone's FB status/photos without seeing random likes for those incessant "inspirational" photos. Even after I unchecked "show likes/comments"...)

If you look at her profile, it says "User banned, please carry on". All her old posts now show up with a circle with a line through it as her icon pic.

I'm going camping with my family this weekend and I should be happy, but I'm not. DH was supposed to do a bunch of things with me this summer since we finally have similar schedules and can't now because his Reserve unit transferred him to one with a different drill schedule and that's planning to deploy next year. This is just the start of him being gone

We have two pretty major events at work tomorrow, one during the day and a wedding reception in the evening. The general rule is not to schedule after hours events when we have a special day event the same day. Well, the reception was scheduled on the shared calendar in March, and then the PR person scheduled the special event for the same day...in July! And now she's trying to tell people it's been on the calendar since January. Um, no. The calendar shows at the bottom of the page when it was added. PR person will NEVER admit she is wrong, and now the fur is really flying. Also, the director, dep. director, and volunteer manager are on vacation this weekend.

Confession: I'm sitting back with popcorn even though I have to work during the day tomorrow. I like my coworkers, but they don't always like each other.
