Re: Happy Friday!! What are you reading?

  • I got sucked in the Mortal instrument series, loved City of Bones and City of Ashes was not bad, but I thought City of Glass was such a dragged, I finished it late last night, so I think I'll stop there.

Not sure when I'll pick up a new book or what it will be, as my kiddos starts school next week, and must get ready.
  • I'm listening to Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews and reading The Shadowy Horses by Susanna Kearsley.  I like them both so far!  #36 and 37 for the year.

  • I just finished Unenchanted by Chanda Hahn.  It was okay. Not a lot of depth, but okay for a quick read.

I am listening to Wings of Glass by Gina Holmes.

I think I'm going to start Wicked this evening.

They will be 66 and 67 for the year, and I will include them in SuBC

I started listening to Midnight Bayou by Nora Roberts this morning. I'm not very far in, but I'm enjoying it so far. #40/60

  • I am almost done with Insurgent, just started reading The Eye of the World, and need to finish The Pillars of the Earth and The Long Earth... I forgot I started those two in Jan.

  • I just started Northern Lights by Nora Roberts.  So far so good, but I'm only two chapters in.
  • I finished The Painted Girls yesterday, which I did not love. Started Life After Life last night. So far seems interesting but the structure is a bit complicated.

  • I gave up on The Cuckoo's Calling. It was SO boring it put me to sleep.
I'm not reading The Good luck Girls of Shipwreck Lane, and it's pretty good!

Just finished Inferno last night and am delving back into The Gift of Fear. No goals, just fun. No. 18 and 19 for the year.
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

    It's slippery as waterweed.
  • I am working on The Grimm Legacy. It is for the SuBC and # 46 for the year.

On my nook is Wicked. It is for the SuBC and #47 for the year.

Next to my bed is Dinner with the Smileys. It is for the SuBC and #48 for the year.

I fully expect all three to be read completely by Monday am. I am also working on my reading list for my trip. I get to spend 8 hours on a train both ways so that is an average of 2 books each way. I also will need books to read while at my parents. I may need a bag just for the books I get to take.

Jealous! Did you get an ARC? I am in lurrve with this series. I need more Celaena and Chaol. And Dorian too, but mostly Chaol.

  • I'm reading American Gods by Niel Gaiman. I'm enjoying it, and it's very different then the usual books I read. I'm about 100 pages into Blood and Beauty: The Borgias by Sarah Dunant, it's very rich in detail and I'm not very familiar with the Borgias so I'm looking forward to the rest of it. Both are for SuBC.

  • I am completely and hopelessly smitten with Code Name Verity. There are these lines, simple lines sometimes, that just sock me right in the heart. I'm listening to that and reading Love in the Afternoon by Alison Packard.

I think these are somewhere in the 30s for the year.

  • Still plodding through The Shadow Rising, by Robert Jordan.  I like it; it's just slow.  I'm about halfway now.  I'm also reading bits of the Imperfect Environmentalist, by Sara Gilbert.

  • Just finished Fallen by Lauren Kate.  I'm in the middle of The Ocean at the End of the Lane.
