Calling all "Pee Buddies"

@callitcompulsive, @islandmonkey8, @LuckyAngel07, @brij2006, @transponster

Anyone having luck with the OPKs?

I'm currently at CD 21. I started OPKs on CD 14 but wasn't around/forgot to do them over the weekend. Still negative today. I thought with my temp spike on Saturday that I had somehow O'ed but no such luck. With the way my temperatures have been so far this cycle, I have a feeling this could be a long cycle.....

Hope some of you are having better luck with your OPKs!

Re: Calling all "Pee Buddies"

  • FMU has given me decent second lines on my OPKs, but no true positives yet. I'll just keep peeing in the mornings (I got a flat-out, super obvious + with FMU before, but peeing Sunday afternoon gave me a much paler line) and watching my temps.

Long story short: for now, O has yet to occur.

  • I haven't gotten any closer either, but the CM is still in full force. So heck if I know what's going on. I did one yesterday and it had a very very faint line. So we BD'd anyways. H also said he had a "good feeling" about that one, afterwards. I just laughed and told him I hope he's right.

  • I had success last week. but I was peeing all the time on those darn things. I was doing it in the morning and after work.

I read somewhere that the best times to pee on an OPK is from 1pm-6pm. not sure why....I don't recall the reasoning behind it.

I think I've heard that your LH is the highest during those times. I always have a hard time during the afternoon though b/c I drink so much water. I'm like you and usually test morning and afternoon/night.

That's what I did on Sunday (I wasn't home when I got up in the morning). I made sure I hadn't peed in damn near 4 hours, and the line I got was fainter than either Saturday morning or this morning. So who the heck knows?! And there's not way during the week I can hit that window; I'm at work until almost 5, and I drink so much water I can't hold it for more than a couple of hours.

  • I always was told to take OPKs in the afternoon as well. It is difficult to not drink a lot or to make sure you don't pee for 4 hours before taking it. Fortunately I'm a teacher so I don't get much time to go to the bathroom or drink anyways!!

I think I would die if I was a teacher. I need to pee like every 5 minutes!
  • @amccul20, I think you eventually develop a resistance or a stronger bladder or something. I can go all day without going to the bathroom sometimes, especially if I don't drink a lot. I don't think that's really healthy. In past years, I've been able to sneak in bathroom breaks between classes but I have no idea what my schedule will be this year.

  • I usually test with FMU and I use my digi OPK. My doctor told me that FMU was fine with the digi but it I wasn't getting a positive to test with FMU and in the evening. I should be starting my tests on Thursday! That mean O will be during vacation, which will make it even harder to track!

  • I've been getting second lines, but nowhere near as dark as the control. I've noticed that when I test in the afternoon, even the control line is lighter. Maybe bc the pee is more diluted with whatever I had been drinking? I don't know. I'm getting tired of analyzing my pee and OPKs. After my period is over in 2ish weeks, I'm probably going to bite the bullet and buy the CBE OPK's and get my damn smiley face so I know for sure some stuff is happening.

I haven't had any ewcm but the last day or two it's been very watery... which is always a good time... lol ... So inconclusive OPKs, staring at pee, analyzing CM, and no temp shift and no CH's for my chart. I'm basically at the same place I was last Thursday when we started the pee pal club. unfortunately, it sounds like a lot of us are in the same boat, lol.
  • I just keep telling H "let's just have sex just in case." And say screw it to the OPK's.  Then it's a week later and there's still no temp spike, and I begin using them again.

Oh the love/hate relationship OPK's and I have.
