Nothing has scared me to the point that I won't go back again so far.  However, the creepiest place I've been is Little Round Top at Gettysburg looking down onto Devil's Den at night.  The whole feel of the battlefields changes.  It's way more menacing in the dark.

The only way I have to describe it is this ... have you had a panic attack before?  If you have, you know that feeling you get when you can feel one building but you don't know why?  You have no clue what the trigger is but it gets stuck in your chest and grows larger and larger and larger until you have to get away.

The second time I was there, I fought to stay for as long as I did.  When I couldn't stand it anymore, I told my husband flat out that I was going and left.  The first time, I couldn't do it.

Learning the history of a place afterward.  I won't lie though ... hearing/seeing things and having them validated by team members or actual documentation is really fucking cool.

You go into a place relatively blind? That's a cool approach!

It works for us.  Obviously with a place like Letchworth Village, Antietam or Gettysburg, we know the basic facts.  But for the most part, we don't do an in depth study until later.

Ooh, this is tough.  My first reaction was Kimye because I think any print those two get is a waste of space.  But then I thought, "Are they really worse than a place like Chernobyl or Auschwitz?"  But we can't get close enough to Chernobyl for a sustained amount of time to get rid of it.  And Auschwitz maybe should stand as a reminder of the evil/cruelty that people are capable of.  Because can we really eliminate that when there are other countries still practicing genocide on a large scale?  How do we choose which to get rid of over another?

So then I went to guns because I pretty much feel that, unless you need to hunt for your table in order to survive, you shouldn't have one.  But taking them all away would prevent those families that DO need the meat to survive from living so I don't feel right doing that.

    Which leaves me with mosquitos.

    OMG HELLO??

    SPIDERS!

Spiders are worse than roaches and mosquitoes combined.

I'll give you that one.  I was thinking of mosquitos mostly because they spread disease.

Fourth of July.  It's in the summer.  It's warm.  There are fireworks.  Lots of food.

  • My question: If had to lose one of your senses, what would you choose and why?
I think either the sense of smell or taste.  Both of them never seem to work right with me.  I think I'll have to go with smell because half the time people ask me, "Did you smell that?" I can't.
