Re: Happy Friday!! What are you reading?

  • I just finished EX Heroes this morning, it is #59 for the year, it was really awesome, zombies and superheroes!

I'm still listening to Under the Dome, it is #60, I like it but work hasn't been great for listening lately.

I'm reading, Seeing a Large Cat, it is #61 and I like so far.

  • I'm reading "Lost For You" the 2nd book by B.J. Harvey. "Lost in Distraction" was the 1st. I really like it. It's pretty unbelievable, like most romances,  but I like all of the character relationships. It's a good easy read.
  • Lol. I was thinking of getting Oulander ;)

I will be starting Gone Girl today, I need to pick up some Audio books, since I'm now back on chauffeur duty for school.

Whatever you do, do NOT get Bad Monkey on audio. :)

  • I am reading Willowleaf Lane by RaeAnne Thayne, which is a fluffy romance-novel-without-the-smut (aka "women's fiction") that is the fifth book of a series. People who liked the Fool's Gold series by Susan Mallery might like these as well. It's #83/100 for the year.

I am also reading Daring Greatly by Brene Brown. I love, love, love her, and her research on shame and vulnerability makes so much sense to me. This is her newest book, and so far it's great. It's #84 for the year.

Hope it picks up. I just picked this up yesterday & I usually like her stuff.

I am not the best person to comment on Outlander but the audio put me to sleep.

  • I am going to finish Theodore Roosevelt: A Life by Nathan Miller today.  It is a great bio.

I am also just a few pages into And the Mountains Echoed.  I am reading it for my IRL bookclub and I have to admit I am dragging my feet because I was NOT a fan at all of The Kite Runner.

I'm listening to The Name of Wind - love, love, love it.  I'm trying to decide if I should start the second one right away.  Does anyone know when the third book is coming out?  I don't want to look for fear of spoilers.

I'm reading Chose the Wrong Guy, Gave Him the Wrong Finger.  It isn't really holding my attention.
    Not for years.
I knew it!  Every time I swear I won't start a new series until all the books are out - and every time I get sucked in.

Yeah, seriously disappointed. I won't be reading the third book though I think it's supposed to focus on Luke instead.

  • I am finishing up Pretty in Plaid by Jen Lancaster.  It's really funny but I am not enjoying it as much as I've enjoyed her earlier novels.  I do like that it is an easy read.

  • I am listening to Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews. It might be my favorite in the series so far.

I'm struggling with The Shadowy Horses by Susanna Kearsley. It's not bad, I'm just not interested in archeology so I don't find myself wanting to pick it up. It's my least favorite of her books that I have read.

Loved this book! It really surprised me how much I liked it.

I'm on BDB #3. It's number 45 of 50 for the year. I'm going to just be happy with exceeding my goal, though and not adjust it. This fall I'm taking 4 classes on top of working full time, so I'm not sure how much leisure reading I'll get in and I know if I set a new goal I'll be stressed about reaching it.

Edit: Grr, I was trying to quote whoever was getting the Game of Thrones characters mixed up, but that doesn't seem to have happened and it won't let me delete.

Seriously! You know there's a cheat sheet of characters in the back of the book, right? I was so mad when I didn't figure this out until halfway through the first book.

And I downloaded Divergent tonight and will be starting that (finally).

  • I'm halfway through The Gift of Fear, only it was due back Thursday and now it won't let me renew online because I didn't renew it before it was due (even though I think nobody else is waiting for it). Darnit.
