I have never heard of anyone being afraid of mirrors before. I find that so fascinating!!

For me it is so ingrained in me at this point. I cannot look into a mirror for very long at all without being scared, forget about even walking by one after a certain time of night. I know I have reasons, but they are difficult to talk about.

I'm intrigued.  Now I really want to know these reasons!  But I'll be good an respect your privacy.
Ok, without specifics, a very close person to me when I was young died rather violently in front of a mirror. For years I saw her in it before the mirror was moved. So now.... I just can't do mirrors.
    I just got chills.

Me too. This is awful. I'm so sorry.

I had to come back because....GEEZ! This is going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the day.

Mostly mirrors and it depends on the mirror. I feel uncomfortable around a lot of them. I don't keep them in the house other than in the bathrooms. There is one mirror I have attached to a vanity in the bedroom and it was my grandmother's. It is the only one that doesn't make me uncomfortable. I can't explain why.
That's really interesting, I think.  I get uncomfortable if I actually LOOK at myself, like in the eyes. It feels like there's a clone of me

  • Something happening to my children or husband.

    Spiders.

Cotton balls. (Not joking. I can't even touch them without gagging).

Stopping on a bridge in traffic.

Being home alone in a bad thunderstorm.

  • I am definitely way more afraid of things as I get older.  I am terrified of spiders, snakes, roaches, anything that can sting me, rats, jellyfish, sharks... there are probably more creatures that freak me out.

Last night was the first night I was truly scared to be home by myself, though that is hopefully just a one time deal.  Really confined spaces, open heights, and guns are some of my newer fears.

Maybe my anxiety is just getting worse.

  • I also can't do weird/repeating textures. Think the inside of a beehive... It's the equivalent of nails on a chalkboard and I freak out if I have to look at it.
I have issues with this too. It gives me the willies. Tree bark, those seed pods with the holes in them, scales...it's such a weird thing to be bothered by, but ick!
Me too! It makes my stomach upset to see them. Spiders, scorpions, SINK HOLES. They've been all over the news lately. They're terrifying.

Last summer/fall my anxiety was crazy. Freaking out over every little thing . I was pretty close to talking to my dr about it. Than it suddenly got better.

  • Late to the party...

Flying.  I am the world's worst flyer.  Just driving by the airport gives me anxiety.  How I've made it to Europe and Hawaii sometimes still amazes me.

My brother is flying to Boston tomorrow and I won't sleep tonight just THINKING about him having to get on a plane.

You know, mirrors used to be considered a portal to other dimensions.  It's one reason that they used to be covered when someone passed away in a home.

I assume that the way you say BOSS is a good thing?

I believe that he started scaring me when he was in the movie Fallen with Denzel Washington. Actually, that whole movie kind of scared the shit out of me.

    And then there is this:
