I'm dying over this. I was so not convinced of the casting before but for some reason it's just sort of clicked for me (the haircut maybe?) and I just cannot wait.

And I think I love JG even more now because he's admitted to crying many times. I just can't imagine what it's like as a writer to see these people and places you created in your mind suddenly become real.

That said, I'm still sad they're not in Indy.

I think this will be a fantastic movie that I most likely will not end up seeing, at least not in theaters. I refuse to go to sad movies because I turn into an emotional mess and that's just embarrassing to do in public.

That being said, I loved his little preview video and loved his enthusiasm.

I have so many conflicting emotions about this movie. I'm SO excited that it's being made, BUT I'm not sure on my feelings about Shailene. She doesn't reach me emotionally as an actress and now she's going to play two of my favorite YA characters. I decided to go see The Spectacular Now this weekend just to see if I can get her "American Teenager" past out of my mind.

I'd seen a few minutes of Secret Life and honestly I blame horrible writing/awkward storylines more than her. Other than that I'm not familiar with her acting.

The haircut is so perfect I think, it's very close to what I pictured. And I like the fact that she apparently loves this book and wants so badly to be there - that gives me hope. And I trust JG and what he's said.

Honestly I'm a bit more worried about Ansel as Gus.

Finally got the chance to watch this. He is just too cute! I love how excited he is.

I'm also a little worried about Ansel as Gus. He is not what I pictured at all. Shailene is growing on me though. I think it helps that I haven't seen her other work.

I wish I knew where in Pittsburgh they are filming. I couldn't tell by the neighborhood I'd totally go stalking and take pictures to share with you all.

And um...how did I miss that Sam Merlotte is Hazel's dad?!?!

I think I'm just going to be conflicted about the movie because of the emotional impact the book had on me. A haircut doesn't make her Hazel...it's not going to be that easy for me to be okay with it. Plus the guy playing Augustus is playing Tris' brother in Divergent so it's all just incestuous and icky in my mind.

Seeing JG so completely excited and enthusiastic makes me happy so I'm just going to focus on that until the movie is released and I can see for myself if they do it justice.

@kayash I wish they were filming in Indy too. How cool would it be to actually film at North Central HS and Keystone Mall?

I've debated waiting to see the Divergent movie until after I see TFiOS movie because of the brother/boyfriend situation. But then it's going to be awfully hard to stay away from Divergent movie spoilers and discussions. So, you see the debate continues.

@JennaHack this website said they are filming in Oakmont, until the 30th or Sept. 7th.

The Indy Star has an article now about how to bring the movie industry to Indiana. They're pretty irritated by TFiOS not filming in the city.

His enthusiasm is adorable but he put his hand through his hair like eleventy million times and was distracting. :-/
