Re: whatca reading

  • I'm about a third of the way through Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss, and am patiently awaiting the next book in the Raven Boys series by Maggie Stiefvater to come out on the 17th, and may re-read the first book before then.

  • I'm reading Insurgent right now.  The series is interesting, but not one of my favorites.  Before that I read Night Circus, I enjoyed the book, but it was a little out there.  It seems most people either enjoyed the first half or the second half. One has more details, the other more of a storyline.

I've also been reading the Sinners On Tour series.  I got through the first two, but have put the rest on hold as I'm waiting for DH to recover fully from surgery.  Reading them just makes me want to jump him all.the.time.

Not sure what I'll read next. So I'm curious to see what others say.

  • @Aimothy - What did you think about The Light Between Oceans? I was entranced and obsessed and died a little at the end.

I'm in book 2 of Harry Potter (Chamber of Secrets) and just get more and more obsessed. I also am about halfway through We Need To Talk About Kevin and had to stop because it was giving me panic attacks.

    Butting in...

I had some really good discussions about The Light Between Oceans with some of my friends with kids.  I was interested to see if our perspectives differed because they had kids and I did not.

Without spoiling the book, why the panic attacks?

  • @nfp147 - the panic attacks were due to We Need To Talk About Kevin, not the Light Between Oceans. But the panic attacks were due to the uncomfortable cold description of how people can be sociopaths since childhood. Creepy.
