Our only other option besides the small indie shops (which are fabulous) is Books-A-Million. Anyone have these?
We have a Books-A-Million. I like it. Not that I buy books a ton because I try to get them from my library, but I always stop in when I'm in the mall. I think they have a pretty good selection. They put out this magazine every month that I like to snag. It's free, and always lists new releases and stuff.
jlq2005 is that magazine called "Book Pages," by any chance? There's a huge indie book store in Dayton that gives that out, and I wondered how wide the distribution is.

Yup! That magazine is great. Some BAM stores also run different themed book clubs (fiction, non-fiction, YA, religion, etc...)
  • We had a Borders but now it's a Books A Million and I do really like it, I liked our Borders as well.  The closest B&N is an hour away, it was the bookstore I went to on trip back to college and I hated going there but it was all I had.

  • I've posted here about awful experiences at B&N before.  Ours is a 2-story in the mall, and is consistently busy.  We use it for the elevator, since we've always got a stroller.  I never buy anything there anymore, I can't stand the place.
I'm an Amazon shopper - I get free Prime because I'm a subscribe-n-saver so everything comes the next day, and the few times I've had to use their CS I've had a great experience.
