Re: Thursday Randoms

  • DH has been doing 90% of the grocery shopping since B was born and it's driving me crazy! He keeps buying meat with bones (mainly chicken) and I refuse to eat meat with bones. So, if I make dinner, I just keep making ground beef recipes until I run out of ideas and then I just don't make dinner. It's frustrating but he won't stop doing it!

  • Hmmm...

I just ate a huge crabcake sandwich at a work luncheon. Now I feel like I am going to explode. Closing my office door and unbuttoning my pants is a very real possibility.

  • The Murphy's Law effect has started.  DH has been gone all of one week and I had to make an emergency trip to the vet this morning (kitty's ok, just ate something he shouldn't have).  I'm scared of what's coming next.

I have to work a 12 hour day today, and I am cranky! I really hope this goes quickly!

Has he caught on that you are not cooking that stuff? I am assuming he is aware of your aversion to meat with bones, yes?

  • I am exhausted today. I normally work 3:30-midnight but the first half of this semester I have a night class on Thursdays, so I'm working 8:30-5 today. I got home at 12:30 last night and did homework till 2:30ish. Left the house at 7:30 this morning and won't get home until 10:30.

  • I had the day off so I could get my license renewed and my name changed on it. However apparently there is a difference between a DMV and a BMV so I needed more proof of identity here vs where I lived a few months ago. So as of now my work checks are being written to my maiden name which I can't deposit and it will take a month to send them back and fix my name on them when I do get my license. So I won't get a paycheck I can use for at least three more weeks.
On the bright side I have the rest if the day off to read! :)

I swear things always happen when MH is out of the country for work.  My fingers are crossed that I can make it until Tuesday when he gets home with no crisis to deal with.

  • Today is one of those days where I just want to be home in my pjs. No real reason why-I'm not sick or anything-I just don't want to be here today.

Also, I am tired of my left ear being blocked. Dr told me it looks fine, but it's been blocked on & off for a few weeks now. I may break down and try and antihistimine.

Whether or not you find your own way, you're bound to find some way. If you happen to find my way, please return it, as it was lost years ago. I imagine by now it's quite rusty.”

  • My H always buys bananas when he grocery shops alone.  We have five freezer quart bags with frozen ripe bananas, because he only eats one or two before they get really ripe.  I think bananas are a sometimes food and really only like about half a banana at a time.  Every time I make banana bread, which is one of his excuses for buying them, I'm the only one that eats it.  So, I just freeze them now and sometimes have them with smoothies.

  • I have so much to do (laundry, vacuum, errands to run, etc.) and instead I sat on the couch flying through the ending of Catching Fire. No regrets.

Aw man, I always forget about being able to freeze bananas.  I threw two away this morning that were too ripe.

  • I sometimes by bananas and pretend to be healthy and eat them like they're meant to be eaten, but I'm really giving myself an excuse to make banana bread.  I could eat that stuff like it's my job.

Have you ever made french toast with it? OMG.  It's a rare treat thing since it's so rich, but man, it's good!

He's aware. He prefers it with the bone and says it's less expensive. And every time he comes home with a new package of chicken, he promises me he'll cut half of them off the bone before he freezes it but he never does. I think it's time for me to take over grocery shopping..

I add them for some of the ice cubes- they help keep the smoothie cold.

After this post I'll only have 2 left to go!

Have you tried depositing them? My paychecks were in my maiden name for months after I got married because my boss wouldn't tell the paycheck company. I never had a problem depositing them.

Yes. They did an ultrasound to see how much fluid is there. I left with a script for Vicodin. I am so bummed these are coming back, I was cyst free for almost two years. I've been taking Advil since I'm nursing but am going to end up taking Vicodin because it freaking hurts.

Side note- I'm cracking up that my iPhone capitalizes Vicodin.

Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. Only have about 60 pages left and I'm both dreading and can't wait to finish it tonight. (Dreading only because I have no idea what is going to happen and the story is twisted.)

This will be the final fate of the bunch he bought while we were apple picking!  (The apples won the lunch battle this week, obviously.)  It sounds fantastic.  I bet I could even freeze sliced portions of the bb and cook it later.

  • @Lauren620 I think I made it up.  I just did egg, milk, vanilla and cinnamon.

This seems pretty much spot on with what I did.
