NBR: How do you pronounce these names?

So we have a girls name in mind and we have had it chosen for a while! Then all of a sudden, I was like, no one is going to pronounce it the way we want them to (and to be honest I don't want our daughter to constantly have to tell people how to pronounce her name). So if you can let me know how you would pronounce these I would appreciate it :-)

I meant to add, if you love it and can deal with some mispronunciation, go for it! Our DD 2 Zara is pronounced Czar-ah, but we've already heard Zair-ah (rhymes with Sarah.)

Aleigh looks pretty written down.

I would want to pronounce both ah-lay. The leigh sound throws me off. I think of words like weigh, sleigh. I can see how it would be difficult for some people.

@EliStar do you think we would get the LEE out of it if we switch the e & I so it was liegh? It looks weird to me and the ei is always how I have seen Leigh (lee) spelled...idk

I think changing to that spelling would be more confusing and always look misspelled.

I'm going to beg you right now for your kid's future sake. Please give her something easy to spell and say. When she goes to apply for jobs and start a career later on, it will make things so much easier for her.

Ah-lee for both, but I would try to wait to see if I could get it said first by parent/child/friend in case it was actually Ally.

How do you want it pronounced? Just Ally? Am I confused? If you want it pronounced Ally, why not spell it that way or name her Allison so she has choices later? Or do you want it pronounced Ah-lay?

Or are you going for Ali as in Muhammad? Ah-lee?

My kid has the "lee" sound at the end of her name and I toyed with making it fancy by spelling it "leigh".

Then I thought about the lifetime of correcting everyone on the pronunciation of her name that I was subjecting her to and decided to name her like she was a child and not a palatial home in the English countryside.

Thanks everyone!

Ok, so we really like the name Allie for a first name, we don't like the name Alison! But Aaron doesn't like the spelling Allie or Alley (reminds him of alley ways) and I'm not a huge fan of Ally. So we initially came up with Aleigh but today while looking at it, I realized that I don't think people will pronounce it right so I thought about throwing in another L to see if it made it better or if it didn't matter.

What will be really funny is if we end up having 2 boys and we wasted major time on this hahaha

My middle name is Leigh and no one ever pronounced it as Lay. I think it's putting the A or Al in front of it that throws me off.
