How did everyone do last week? Any goals for this week?
Re: Fitness Post!
On Monday I did a 4.5 mile run and then didn't do anything until my long run on Saturday. I skipped my long run the weekend before, so I knew I had to do it this weekend...I was not looking forward to it, but I forced myself and was able to do 8 miles. I did a pattern of run 15 minutes/walk 2 and that seemed to work well for me and I was able to finish in 1:35 (11:58 pace). The last mile was really hard, but overall, I felt okay through the whole thing. I was definitely done at the end of 8 though, so it is intimidating to think about running another 5 on top of that. But even though I skipped most of last week, I feel really good about my long run, so hopefully that motivates me for this week.
I also did a 5k with Mason on Sunday! He kept asking me all weekend to do the race, so I took him with me since it was a family fun run/walk. He was a trooper! When he crossed the finish line, he raised his hands, and yelled "woo hoo!". They had smiley face cookies at the end, so he was really excited to "win" a cookie!
This weekend I also bought new shoes - so I am excited to try them out this week.
I have nothing to report this week. *hanging head in shame*
Jake - 1.15.08
