All this Outlander talk...

Has me wanting to finish the series. I am WAY ahead in my early reading goal. I could tackle a few long books. I finished Outlander, and even bought a few of the others at HPB when they were super cheap. I LOVE sweeping long series, but I just haven't gone ahead and read them for some reason.

LOL!  He's shaking his head at the fact that you haven't finished the series yet.

  • I am pretty sure he is shaking his head because there are just no words for how true it is that you need to read it. Is this it? Am I right?

I also have not read it. I need to read it. I just don't know that I am ready to give up my entire life to it. And that's how I am. All or nothing.

I read straight through the series until I got to The Fiery Cross. It took me a while to pick up A Breath of Snow and Ashes afterwards, but it ended up being one of my favorites!

I still need to read An Echo in the Bone.

  • I still need to read An Echo in the Bone.  I've started it but then my time with it was up and it went back to the library.  I'm not in a huge hurry to read it.  I know once I'm done I'll have to wait for the next book so I"m trying to drag it out a little so I don't have to wait as long.

I'm so intimidated by it. Even though I've read plenty of super long books, this is several super long books in a series that seems like it will take over my life. It sounds so amazing though.

  • It's definitely worth it and it does seem to take over because they take me forever to read. I usually read other books in the middle of the Outlander books too, so I just stop reading for awhile and then go back to it for awhile, etc. I read about one or two a year and am 1/3 through ABOSAA.

  • I was inspired to pick up the first book in the series today at my library. I'm lucky because our library has a permanent used book sale room so I got it for $.25 :)

  • I've read and/or listened to books 1-3 three times now. I'm on my first complete re-read of the series to prepare for book 8 in March. Right now I'm about 100 pages into Drums of Autumn, but then I got distracted when @funkypineapple sent me the HP series.

My goal is to make it all the way through Echo before March.

    You're welcome  :D

TFC stalled me on the series and I've since made it to the middle of ABOSAA. Strange that I haven't finished the series yet. It's my goal before the next one though

I did the same thing around 300 pages in. Turns out around page 350 this book finally gets going. Oops!

I also did it with TFC, which really didn't get better, but it was worth it to be able to read ABOSAA, which was good, lol.

I'm sorry but I got a chuckle out of the fact that your siggy says that you are 73 weeks pregnant!  :)

  • I am a slow reader. I am just one of those people that reads every word and I probably read it in my head about as fast as I would read it out loud. I read The Fiery Cross in January. I started it as my first book of the year because I knew it would take me a while. It took me 2 months. ugh That's a long time for one book with no breaks. I have been reading this series off and on for about 4-5 years and each time I go to read another book in the series, I get very intimidated. I always end up loving them but it takes a huge jump for me to start one. I think I will read the next one in January of next year. That way, I know how much time I have left to get my reading goal. I am ahead of it now but for a while, I was 3-4 books behind because of the time I took to read TFC.

  • I'll also add that, while I was reading TFC, I kept track of the page count and she wrote about one single day and it took up the first 150 pages of the book. Oh my goodness. I love it but it also drives me nuts.
