  • 1) If money and time were no object, where would you go on vacation and what would you do there?  I don't really like to travel but if I had unlimited funds, I would buy a luxury yatch (like REALLY luxury enough that my cats can have a wing of their own) and load up some friends, lots of booze and food and cruise the worlds oceans forever.

    2) Same question, but this time, reality and/or you place in time and the universe is no object. Same as above.

    3) What is your favorite pastime, other than reading?  Cooking/baking
    90 books in 2015?

  • 1) If money and time were no object, where would you go on vacation and what would you do there?
I have always wanted to see Alaska, and Newfoundland. It would be hard to pick between the two if money and time were no object. While there we would hike and camp and do all the fun outdoorsy stuff that we enjoy.
    2) Same question, but this time, reality and/or you place in time and the universe is no object.
    Hogwarts.
    3) What is your favorite pastime, other than reading? Crafts and baking.
  • 1) If money and time were no object, where would you go on vacation and what would you do there? London. Just see the sights. 2) Same question, but this time, reality and/or you place in time and the universe is no object. Hmmm, no idea really. 3) What is your favorite pastime, other than reading? Riding horses, crafty things, baking

  • 1) If money and time were no object, where would you go on vacation and what would you do there? I would love to travel through Europe. I wouldn't back pack, I would stay at all posh hotels and hire a local person as my tour guide in each city I stopped in.
     2) Same question, but this time, reality and/or you place in time and the universe is no object. We just saw Elysium. I would love to live in space on a beautiful habitat that had a gadget to keep me young and fix any ailment.
     3) What is your favorite pastime, other than reading? Gardening. This year I've also taken up canning to try and make my bounty last longer.

  • 1) If money and time were no object, where would you go on vacation and what would you do there? I've always wanted to do a solo trip to Europe. No plans... just fly over, hop on the train and see where I end up day to day.

    2) Same question, but this time, reality and/or you place in time and the universe is no object. I'd like to visit New York in the 1920s

    3) What is your favorite pastime, other than reading? Napping, cooking and hiking

  • 1) If money and time were no object, where would you go on vacation and what would you do there?  For some reason I've always wanted to visit the Dead Sea.  I would love to go to Egypt too.

    2) Same question, but this time, reality and/or you place in time and the universe is no object. Assuming I wouldn't die, I'd like to witness the Big Bang or a Supernova.  That would be spectacularly awesome.

    3) What is your favorite pastime, other than reading? Being in the kitchen.  I hate the clean up, but I love the process.

  • 1) Tour Europe. Ireland, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy... all those places and more. I would want to try the local foods, see the sights (both touristy and the "unknown" places).

    2) I would want to see the American colonies and mid-evil Europe. If I was still rich from the above post than I would be traveling in style with a coach and all that stuff. :)

    3) I love hiking. Being outdoors is one of my favorite things. I like hiking, running, biking, camping... ect.

  • 1) If money and time were no object, where would you go on vacation and what would you do there? I wouldn't do one spot. I'd travel all around Europe, hitting my favorite spots and going to new places.

    2) Same question, but this time, reality and/or you place in time and the universe is no object. Um, Hogwarts. Duh.

    3) What is your favorite pastime, other than reading? Socializing.

  • 1) If money and time were no object, where would you go on vacation and what would you do there?  I would go to Tahiti or Bora Bora or any other beautiful tropical place.  I would relax on the beach for a while then hire a guide to take us to all the cool places in the area.  After that would be massages of course.

    2) Same question, but this time, reality and/or you place in time and the universe is no object.  Same.

    3) What is your favorite pastime, other than reading?  The same as others...baking and crafts.

  • 1.  I already have a giant vacation in Europe planned out, but am awaiting the arrival of the time and money to make it happen.  Scotland (where we will rent a castle with a group of friends for a week or two), then London, then down to the coast for a ferry across the channel to arrive in Normandy by boat (I'm a bit of a D-Day buff).  I want to spend a couple of weeks touring around northern France, then Paris and train from there to Amsterdam and some biking around the Dutch countryside for 2 weeks or so.  In the spring, so I can see all the Tulips and go to the flower markets in Amsterdam.

    2. I'd like to visit all different parts of the world at all different times in history.  I'd love to see the Chicago World's Fair.  I'd love to see the Roaring 20s (I really just want to go to one of Jay Gatsby's parties).  I'd love to see D-Day for the sheer magnitude of it all, but I don't really want to bear witness to that much death and violence.  I'd love to see what it was like to be an American during the American Revolution, to witness the founding of a new country.  But it would also be pretty cool to go to the moon.

    3.  Gardening.
  • 1) If money and time were no object, where would you go on vacation and what would you do there?

I've always wanted to go to Tahiti, so I would go there. I would probably just read and get drunk. I would also hire Anthony Bourdain or Eric Rippert to be my personal chef.

    2) Same question, but this time, reality and/or you place in time and the universe is no object.

I would go back in time and get all the people & pets that I miss and take them all to Narnia with DH & DS. No White Witch though.

    3) What is your favorite pastime, other than reading?

I like to run, but have been a slacker about that lately. I also like to do crafty things, but never have time anymore.

  • 1.  Hm.  My dream would be to have my own summer place somewhere in NC on the beach where I could go whenever I wanted.  For a REAL vacation, I would love to see the major cities of Russia.  The architecture there is just beautiful, and I'd probably only do touristy stuff.

    2. I would love to ski the Andes in Chile.  This is not realistic because I don't know how to ski and will probably never learn to ski well enough to ski mountains off-trail.

    3. Does shopping count?  I'm pretty eclectic, I have too many hobbies and not enough time to do them.  Gardening, knitting, and my fish tanks are a few of the things that need my attention right now.  I really need to finish the scarves I started last winter before it gets cold.

  • 1) If money and time were no object, where would you go on vacation and what would you do there? If money and time were no objects, I would take a family vacation as often as possible and travel all over 10 days at a time ;). We are limited to 2 vacation per year as of now, we would definitely like to travel more.

    2) Same question, but this time, reality and/or you place in time and the universe is no

    3) What is your favorite pastime, other than reading?
Love going on a long walk/run or even hiking

  • 1) If money and time were no object, where would you go on vacation and what would you do there?
I would take a cruise around the world twice.  DH and I could take our whole families and book several suites all together.  I would whatever the iconic thing for the area was the first time around, and the second just explore the cities on my own.

    2) Same question, but this time, reality and/or you place in time and the universe is no object.
I would love to see Tchiakovsky and Mussorgsky at work.  Actually, I'd love to see all the great composers in their day to day lives.

    3) What is your favorite pastime, other than reading?
I love to garden, and then, cook what I grew!
  • 1) If money and time were no object, where would you go on vacation and what would you do there?  Jamaica, the same place Luke and I spent our honeymoon.  I cried for a good 75% of the honeymoon, so I would love to have a redo when I'm not in the middle of losing my mind.

    2) Same question, but this time, reality and/or you place in time and the universe is no object.  Same answer.

    3) What is your favorite pastime, other than reading?  Lately it's been going to Starbucks and writing.  My blog is probably my favorite, although it relates to strongly to reading I'm not sure it counts.

  • 1) If money and time were no object, where would you go on vacation and what would you do there?  I would take a summer and visit every MLB stadium. I like to travel between them in all sorts of ways. Fly, take a train, RV, rent a luxury car, rent a classic car, boat...whatever.

    2) Same question, but this time, reality and/or your place in time and the universe is no object. Hogwarts, of course. I'd also like to visit OASIS from Ready Player One and play around there for awhile. Oh, and I'd LOVE to have tea with Alexi Tarraboti from The Parasol Protectorate series.

     3) What is your favorite pastime, other than reading? Watching sports and going to games. Cooking. Wine tasting.

  • If money and time were no object, where would you go on vacation and what would you do there?
I've always wanted to stay in an over water bungalow in Tahiti. I would spend all day lounging around and watching the ocean and then maybe do some snorkeling.
    2) Same question, but this time, reality and/or your place in time and the universe is no object.
I would like to go back to before I had kids and redo our honeymoon on Maui. I would bring more money for food this time though.
    3) What is your favorite pastime, other than reading?
Does social media count? I'm also pretty big on watching tv but there are fewer and fewer shows that I enjoy now.

    Why were you crying?  :(
In general losing my mind.  My response to any major life change is to cry uncontrollably for a few weeks.  Add in no sleep in the weeks leading up to the wedding and the death of a dear friend while I was on the honeymoon and I just couldn't stop crying.  If we were smart, we would have waited a month to go, knowing that I'm a change-induced cryer.

  • 1. This seems like maybe it's a generic kind of answer, but if money were no object, I would go to Walt Disney World for two weeks and do everything totally "top shelf." I would stay at Disney's BoardWalk Inn in one of the club level rooms (one king-sized bed ALL TO MYSELF). I would eat at all the best restaurants. I would ride all my favorite rides over and over again. And I would spend some time enjoying stuff outside the parks too...maybe parasail at the Contemporary Resort, see the Cirque du Soleil show, hit up the spa. I would even spend some time just lounging around by the pool, reading. Usually, when I have been to WDW in the past, it was for only four days, so it was all parks, all the time, with very little time to enjoy the rest.

    2. I think I would want to go to Bar Harbor back in the 1910s and 1920s when it was in its heyday. I would love to see the time when so many wealthy people went to spend the summer in their "cottages" there. My great-grandmother's family is originally from Mt. Desert Island (where Bar Harbor is located), but they were lobstermen, so they did not live the life of the summer people.

    3. Right now, I spend a lot of time Working on Myself. Is that a pastime? I like eating out with friends. I like volunteering. I do some crafty things (knitting, art journaling). I like shopping, Except for reading, I am a dabbler.
