Happy last Friday of summer!! What are you reading?

How do you like it so far? Is it for any of the challenges?

What are you looking forward to most or least this fall?

  • I am still reading A Clash of Kings and Dark Lover.  I also started Sea Swept by NR.  I just haven't had a whole lot of reading time lately so it feels like I have been reading these forever!  They are #72 and 73 for the year.

I think I am most looking forward to my Christmas shopping that I take every fall with my BFF, my mom and her BFF.  I'm also looking forward to my DS's birthday.  He officially becomes a teenager soon!

I am also still reading a couple of nonfiction books that I am slowly making my way through here and there.

I am enjoying all of them!

I am most looking forward to wearing jeans and sweaters and boots and other fall clothing. This is my favorite season for fashion! I am also loving being able to have the windows open all day and all night...the fresh air feels so amazing!

    It's #23 of my goal of 25.

I'm most looking forward to cooler temperatures, my birthday, going to see SYTYCD tour and fall foliage.

  • I'm still chugging my way along through A Reliable Wife. It's ok so far -- not sure what to think of it. It's for book club on Wednesday, so I need to really get moving if I want to finish. It's #23/30 for the year.

I'm looking forward to cozy sweaters and eating warm soups this fall. I'm not looking forward to knowing that winter is right around the corner.

I'm reading The Dream Thieves.  So far, I'm liking it! #51

I'm going to start a re-listen of Outlander today.  I miss it and I want to drive back in. #52

When I finish these two, I will have hit my goal for the year!  \:D/

ETA:  I'm most looking forward to Wes's first birthday.  I will be celebrating with a giant bottle of wine thankful that we all survived.  The first months were rough, so it's really time to celebrate!

  • I am about halfway through listening to The Dream Thieves, which is intriguing. I am still about 3 pages into Enchanted - I haven't read anything this week, which is really unusual for me.

I love fall foods - soups, stews, chilis, etc.  I like to have something simmering on the stove while I work around the house or read.

  • I am reading:

The Swan Thieves by Elizabeth Kostova.  I have had this book on my shelves at home since it was released and kept putting it aside.  Now that I am reading it, I can't believe I put it off so long. Kostova is a beautiful writer and I am really enjoying it.

The Orchid House by Lucinda Riley.   I am reading this one for my IRL bookclub.  So far I am liking it.

I started listening to Room this morning on my drive into work. I tried reading it earlier this year and gave up because I couldn't get into it.

I will finally be starting And the Mountains Echoed this weekend \:D/ , it finally became available from the library.  These will be #62 and 63 for the year.

ETA: This fall I'm looking forward to our 1 year anniversary, apple picking, decorating our house for fall, planting our spring bulbs, and Thanksgiving.

  • I started Mr. Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore last night.  I'm not very far into it, but so far it's good.  It's 36/52 for the year.

This fall, I'm looking forward to cooler temperatures (supposed to be 90 today.. ugh!) and Halloween with DS.  Last year was fun, but I think this year will be awesome now that he'll actually be able to walk, talk, trick-or-treat, look at the other kids' costumes, etc.

I'm still listening to Six Years by Harlan Coben.  Audiobooks and being a SAHM just aren't mixing (and I say that because I don't have a commute in which I can listen to books!).

Started a Harry Potter re-read just because.  About 25% in to The Sorcerer's Stone.

#s74 and 75 for the year.  I'm going to see if I can push a make 100 this year.

ETA: I love EVERYTHING about fall.  I'm least looking forward to it going by so quickly because our calender is so jam-packed.

  • I have no idea what I'm reading.  I just finished The Wise Man's Fear last night and need to post about it.  I don't even know how to go about picking a book after that.

What I'm not looking forward to:  cold temperatures that I'm not used to anymore.  I'll be missing SoCal big time.

What I AM looking forward to:  my trip to Europe!

  • I just finished Mariana by Susanna Kearsley last night (#43/60). I really liked it (4 stars), but I thought the ending was a little abrupt and could have been fleshed out a little more. I downloaded The Lavender Garden by Lucinda Riley to start next.

I'm listening to The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley (#44/60). I'm really enjoying the story, but I'm not so sure about the narrator.

  • I just finished Siege and Storm. It was fan-freaking-tastic. It's number 158? for the year. I already met my goal, but I'm hesitant about setting a new one.

Fall is my favorite season, our anniversary is in a few weeks, and the temperature drops below 90. I'm most dreading not having Pumpkin Spice lattes from Starbucks. They're my favorite, but I have to limit my caffeine.
